What I think really meant is "I'm not a socialist because I don't want to live like a socialist, I just want Americans to live like socialists so I and my party can remain in power and so we can afford to live freely.".

Or maybe it's just "I am not a socialist. I may want everything to be like a socialist country. But I'm not going to call it a socialist country specifically using that word."

The Scandinavian countries say that they're capitalists, not socialists.

I happen to disagree and believe that it needs to be regulated a little bit more than that because poor people are often poor for a reason, and that reason is often that they make irresponsible decisions about money and their lives in general.

I think writing poor people checks and not regulating it will just fuel more of the same bad decisions and they'll stay in the same place that they're at.

Putting bureaucrats in charge hasn't improved the situation. The overhead in managing the people receiving aid is about 5 times the actual amount they recieve.

You want national healthcare, not because it is cheaper, better, or more accessible; you want national healthcare because some people can NOT afford healthcare, so go ahead and raise prices on everyone else massively, make it a worse product, just so it appears free; which it isn't! Have you EVER aked yourself why higher education costs have gone through the roof, and far out paced inflation?

I will tell you why----------->because the government stuck their beak in there, and since they aren't spending THEIR money, cost doesn't matter. It is an absolute travesty upon our country, and our children, especially those who are paying the freight themselves.

If national healthcare was a smart idea, Medicare would not be heading for insolvency, now would it! And just look at the secondary policies our seniors have to pick up to supplement what Medicare does not pay. And yet, ALL Americans who work pay into Medicare, and it is STILL heading towards insolvency, and they can't even fully cover the 15% of the population that gets it with all paying in.

Have you seen California is talking about Healthcare for all? Have you seen the cost? Well, if you haven't, Healthcare for all is MORE expensive than the current total of California's budget! How do you do that?

Ideas are WONDERFUL, until you put reality in. Doesn't mean the ideas are BAD, just means at the current time, some are unworkable. I would LOVE to wave a magic wand and give everyone in this country healthcare for FREE! But NOTHING is for FREE, and with the actual costs to do it, we would destroy this country almost instantly economically.

And just to EDUCATE you, did you know in Scandinavian country's, the wealthy pay a far LESS tax rate then ours do. If you don't believe me, look it up! The weight of the taxes go on the middle class, and the poor. Again, before you comment, look it up! For all these social services, the poor are taxed to death. If you think that is brilliant, then start making threads on how we have to massively raise taxes on the poor, to pay for your grandiose ideas, just like in Scandinavian country's, and you will be far, far, far more accurate.
