Joe Biden promised to 'end Covid", but just declared it a "national emergency"

What doesn't add up is your single digit I.Q. trying to fathom why giving middle class workers a break on student loans is a good idea.

The TAXPAYERS who are footing the student loans, struggling to make auto and mortgage payments while trying to put food on the table didn't take out those loans. This is unconstitutional and as socialist as hell. The students were told to get a college education so they could get well paying jobs. What happened?

Indeed, we are less than 10 weeks to the midterm elections.
Claiming a National Emergency now is the standard ploy used by Maoist Democrat Leftists in an attempt to sway the election their way.
If American citizens voting in the coming elections can be swayed by these antics, they deserve whatever they get.

Bidens administration is attempting to buy votes while increasing the national deficit. But that is fine as long as a democrat does it. Let a Republican try and buy votes by increasing the debt and watch the fools yell.

It's not unconstitutional. It is fiscally irresponsible. And it doesn't address the overall issue of ballooning student loan debt and loan predation.
What happened was fulfilling a campaign promise...albeit ham-handed.

It's not? Since the Constitution decrees all spending must originate in the House, how do you explain Veggie Joe deciding on his own to spend $300 BILLION by decree?

Apparently the frugal students borrowed just enough money to pay for tuition, books along with room and board. Joe made a vote-for-me promise and we'll see if it worked come November.

And how do you think those "frugal" students got that just enough money? Have any experience with student loans? I do. About three decades worth. And hell, my student loans from the 80's were quite cheap by comparison. :)
Again, I don't agree with this "solution". It's not addressing the overall problems.

They signed a contract. We didn't sign their contract, they did.

Time for you libnut snowflakes to take responsibility for once in your pathetic lives. Pay the loans YOU agreed to pay.

This "decree" by Plugs will wind up in the Supreme Court and will be told the appropriations will have to go through Congress. Pelosi even said so.

Apparently the left doesn't think contracts mean anything.

Prove me wrong, Dimwingers.

GO!

LOL. You bury an ending COVID accusation in a fucking tweet about student loans?

Jesus, Smooshy Face. Just give it a rest. :auiqs.jpg:

Actually, if you stopped to actually READ the Opost -- you would FIND OUT by WHAT AUTHORITY the President can forgive DEBT. Nancy Pelosi herself said in 2019 -- that a President (in this case Trump) simply DOES NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DO THAT. Thats' a direct quote. Find the citation yourself.

SO -- to put a pause on student loans, there NEEDED TO BE Congressional authorization of EMERGENCY powers. And like all the other BAD things this "emergency" brought us -- Congress DID THAT. And student loan payments were later deferred.

IOWords -- Trump and the Repub congress followed the law. The Covid emergency IS OVER -- so Biden is OVERSTEPPING HIS AUTHORITY to continue those payment deferments or to BRIBE VOTERS with "reducing their loan balance" in ANY WAY.

The OPoster should have EXPLAINED this knowing that so many members are as in the dark about details as you are.
