Jodi Ernst: We’re all going to Die

$880 billion in cuts to Medicaid is HUGE, much much much more than the 10 billion that might be worked around to get it to an illegal, who generally do not qualify for Medicaid.

This $880 billion in cuts will hurt the poor working Americans that did not earn enough to get on Obamacare,
and who also earned too much to qualify for Medicaid earnings cut off.

The Obama care Medicaid expansion Americans....

Then, without insurance our Hospitals will be inundated in their Emergency Rooms, with people who don't have the money to pay, the hospital has to give them care under law and will get some reimbursement but not enough ....not enough to save breaking some of these Hospitals in to shutting down, hurting all of us in the long run, imo.

Medicaid also pays about 40% of the costs of all seniors in nursing homes.

And Medicaid pays for the healthcare of the Disabled.

Along with covering the healthcare of those who earn less a year, than the U.S. Poverty line.

$880 billion in cuts to Medicaid and the Food assistance program are going to hurt working Americans, in a really big way....imo.
The flock couldn't care less.

Unless/until it affects them.

They may as well start lining the poor up against a firing squad wall.
Eventually the elderly and the poor will be the first ones denied in a poorer nation economically. There are Progressives who have put suggestions out there for this to happen. President Obama made two comments that I remember. one, take the pain pill for the end and two, up to two million dollars for medical for each person and that is it. The pruning of the population would be started.

I just read this. This is the mindset of the repub party. "Well, we're all going to die." But if you are a billionaire that trump has pardoned or sold his crazy crypto to, you will not hear this from the repub. If this bill passes, which it probably will, the Dems need to repeat over and over statements like this and provisions in the bill that hurt the poorest of the poor. trump does not care about his voters. He doesn't need them anymore. The red states are going to be the hardest hit from his evil agenda.
Have you any specifics from the bill itself what is actually being cut? You know, to be accurate and stuff?

Well, if actually said, the basic of the statement is the absolute truth. No one gets out of life alive.
That said, no matter what political party any politician is in, they should be informed that the true measure of the greatness of any nation, at least to me, is how they take care of their most vulnerable "citizens, with such being the youngest and oldest citizens.

Without access to affordable health care, Americans will die the consequence of this reckless, irresponsible legislation.

For many, by the time they go to an emergency room, it's too late.
They won't be able to afford going to an emergency room

She's not wrong.

They have to work, with a few exceptions, to get most of all the different kinds of welfare assistance, and have kids in their households. Their employers cannot afford to pay for healthcare insurance benefits for their employees...is why they have no insurance coverage.
Clinton had a few exceptions up to 5 years, what makes you think it changed?
Welfare may be run by by states? I don't know how much is Federal vs state funding?

"There are many states that have adopted wide-ranging policies concerning how long an individual can obtain welfare benefits. Time limits range from 24 months to 60 months. Only a few states have no time limits. All states allow exceptions to time limits within their policies."

Then there is the SNAP program, which has all kinds of exceptions for illegals:

  • Refugees
  • Individuals granted asylum
  • Victims of severe trafficking
  • Deportation withheld
  • Amerasians
  • Cuban and Haitian entrants
  • Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants (SIV)
  • Certain American Indians born abroad
  • Hmong or Highland Laotian tribal members
  • Compacts of Free Association (COFA) citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau

Eligible Non-citizen Groups

Not to be nasty, but we simply can't afford to be generous to illegals or the lazy. Costs need to be cut.

50% fed, 50% state on Medicaid...

the Medicaid expansion part of Obama care plan, was 90% fed and 10% states, I believe....??? But don't take my word on it, this is from memory....and I thought it was to gradually increase the State portion?

The deal is -

You just make up stuff that normal people don't believe.

What about Welfare? 50/50?

What she said is true :-)

What about Welfare? 50/50?
Yes, I believe that too is 50/50...the only difference is the States sometimes have a larger share if that state decides to expand the federal cut off of 2 years and things like that...then the whole cost is on the State if outside of the federal rules.
