But I don’t know about any of the efforts to install fixes.

If FISA Courts are too readily subject to being mere “rubber stamps” then maybe we don’t have to scrap all of the Patriot Act and its offspring. Maybe we should instead seek to amend it with new provisions to create more scrutiny over the FISA court decisions.

When laws are enacted like the Patriot Act, they are for the reason to abuse the citizen when it has to happen. There is no reason for it otherwise. Like grade school, the whole class suffers for a couple of kids. This is a path to the police state. And we are heading there.
