Jimmy Carter: A Rebuttal

The Wisdom of Jimmy Carter

1. The 39th President, Carter, picked up the banner of communism that had been dropped after communism's truest champion, the 32nd President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, had passed on.

Roosevelt's successor, Harry Truman learned of communism's goals and nature via the Venona Papers, and soon reversed Roosevelt's obedience to Joseph Stalin.

Ronald Reagan, number 40, trampled on communism's banner, and rolled back the gains that Roosevelt had bequeathed the Bolsheviks.

And he did so without firing a shot.

Now...the 'wisdom' of Jimmy Carter:

Jimmy Carter began his presidency at Notre Dame with a speech that included “We are now free of that inordinate fear of Communism which once led us to embrace any dictator who joined us in our fear.”

1. Under the auspices of Franklin Roosevelt, the United States drew closer, and embraced, the Communist regime of Joseph Stalin. FDR Democrats covered for, ignored, and made excuses for massacres, genocide, government instituted famines and lies of every variety. The same view of communism has persisted 'til this very day.

2. Jimmy Carter, midway between Roosevelt and Obama, continued that thinking. Unlike the hard Left, Liberals did come out and actually support or defend the Soviet Union, rather they soft-pedaled communism by showing contempt and scorn for anticommunists as “primitive” or “knee-jerk” or just plain “nuts” and “warmongers.”

a. The problem, as the Carter left saw it, was the right’s paranoia, its ‘inordinate’ fear of communism, as the Soviet Union and other communist states were neither particularly threatening nor particularly evil.

b. These folks found understandable the Soviet Union’s fear of ‘encirclement’....they sympathized.

4. Poor Soviet Union..... fear of ‘encirclement’... “Between 1974 and 1980, while the United States wallowed in post-Vietnam angst, 10 countries had fallen into the Soviet orbit: South Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, South Yemen, Angola, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Grenada and Afghanistan. Never had the Soviets lost an inch of real estate to the West. The Brezhnev Doctrine stated simply that once a country went Communist, it would stay Communist. In other words, the Soviet empire would continue to advance and gain territory…” http://eightiesclub.tripod.com/id382.htm

The defining characteristic of Left vs Right is the value placed on human life.

1. Take a look at how the Soviet Communists valued the lives of their citizens:
a. "We must rid ourselves once and for all of the Quaker-Papist babble about the sanctity of human life." Leon Trotsky

b. "As one of his friends later recalled, "Vladimir Ilych Ulyanov (Lenin) had the courage to come out and say openly that famine would have numerous positive results...Famine, he explained....would bring about the next stage more rapidly, and usher in socialism, the stage that necessarily followed capitalism. Famine would also destroy faith, not only in the tsar, but in God, too." The Black Book of Communism, p.123-124.

c. "In 1945 Zhukov is reported to have said to US General Dwight D. Eisenhower, "If we come to a minefield, our infantry attacks exactly as it were not there." Georgy Zhukov hero file

This version of Leftism, Soviet Communism slaughtered 100 million human beings, the majority of them their own citizens.
The butchering of their own citizenry is a hallmark of totalitarian governance.

“…We are now free of that inordinate fear of Communism...." Jimmy Carter

It is almost three weeks that I have been holding my tongue, submitting to the hagiography of the peanut man..
Here is the true legacy of Jimmy Carter. To see where Jimmy fits in, pay special attention to #5.

First post is to set the history in perspctive of where Carter belongs:

Let's review:

1. The Democrats are, and have always been, the party of slavery, segregation, and second-class citizenship, the party that stood in schoolhouse doors to block black school children….until Republicans sent in the 101st airborne

2. It is the party of Jefferson Davis, the KKK, Planned Parenthood, concentration camps for American citizens, and restrictions on free speech.

3. It is the party of Mao ornaments on the White House Christmas tree, and of James Hodgkinson, and of Communist Bernie Sanders, of pretend genders.

4. The Democrat Party is the oldest racist organization in America, the trail of tears, the author of Jim Crow and the bigotry of low expectations, filibustered against women getting the vote and killed every anti-lynching bill to get to Congress

5. The Democrat Party is the number one funder of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran….to the tune of $100 billion to the Ayatollahs….and gave Hezbollah the go-ahead to sell cocaine in America.

6. It is the party of anti-Semitism and Louis Farrakhan, and of the first Cabinet member ever to be held in contempt of Congress.

7. It is the party that admits its future depends on flooding the country with illegal aliens, and telling them to vote.

8. It is the party that couldn't suck up to the Castro Brothers enough, and treats the Bill of Rights like a Chinese menu..

9. The Democrats got us into the Civil War…Jefferson Davis .... Woodrow Wilson, WWI….FDR, WWII……Truman, Korean War….VietNam, JFK and LBJ…..yet they want to weaken our military.

10. The Democrats are the party that looks at the mayhem their gun laws have produced in Chicago, ……and this is their model for the nation.
I ask posters, now do you understand why I abandoned the Democratic party in time to elect Ronald Reagan as president? @Politicachic the Democrats so permeate the minds of Democrats they must be correctly educated or they stay Democrats till death. They are rock headed devoted to Democrats.

Tomorrow, January 16, and anniverary we can attribute to Carter.

January 16th, 1979 The Shah fled Iran following mass demonstrations protesting his rule. Sixteen days later, Ayatollah Khomeini, a radical Islamic cleric returned from France and seized control. By August the judiciary decreed it illegal to criticize Islam and Iran’s spiritual leaders. About 500 so-called counter-revolutionaries and officials of the former regime had been executed. The shah was asked to leave the US on December 5, 1979, and died in Cairo July 27, 1980.
Seldom do I tell this true story but as the owner of an appraisal firm at the time, I appraised homes of Iranians mainly in San Jose, CA. I met some former high officials from Iran. I talked to them about these issues you raise plus others.
A very old man from Iran explained much to me. He had under the Shah been the head person over the police of Iran dealing with police communications. He told me that Iran has only a police force that is not for cities or counties, but for all of Iran. It would be like the USA eliminated all police but the Federal cops. This is to help you compare. He said for the rich in Iran, the wealthy were huge fans of the Shah. The rest of the country was very willing to just be run by Islam. It would be like this in America were we to just be run by Catholics or by Judaism or by some cult of Protestants.
The Shah allowed freedom. Yet Democrats in the USA despised the Shah. They seem to fall in line with the Islamist Ayatollah. He had retired when the Shah was still in charge. HE had his pals in the Police force were executed by the Ayatollah when he took command. In Iran he owned a large home. It sounded to me as a rich person's home. When he left Iran, the Ayatollah confisticated all of his property. Not instantly he said, since Iran hoped he wold show up in Iran to I suspect face punishment. So the property was dangled for him but he did not return to Iran to face death there. I appraised for Iran mortgage brokers. I was told they left Iran as workers. Frank Alam for example was an Engineer when he lived in Iran. He sided with the poor and was super pleased when OJ Simpson was not convicted. We saw the results on the TV at Franks lady pals home. I was there to appraise it and Frank met me at the home and turned on the TV. I asked him why he was pleased that Simpson was found not guilty and he told me she deserved death. I was so amazed I stopped talking to him about that trial. He told he when he went to Iran, he was still welcomed back. HE said under Islam no alcohol could be consumed in homes ever. So he loved booze. He told me he bought new 5 gallon gas cans and filled them with booze. And when he got to Iran, he picked them up at the shipping place. He told me he was never caught by the law.

Let's keep working toward that goal.

I recommend the book by Dr. Abbas Milani ....he is he Director of the Iranian Studies Program at Stanford University. His recent book is “The Shah,” is based on ten years studying the archives of the United States and of Britain.

1. Due to the American pressure, the Shah launched a series of reforms, known as the White Revolution, in 1963. This included many American ideas for modernization, such as a) land reform, b) modernization of infrastructure including railroads, c) education, d) enfranchising women, e) urbanization, f) encouragement of a class of technocrats and competent bureaucrats, etc. tried (unsuccessfully) to enable Iran’s religious minorities—principally Baha’is, Jews, and Christians—to take the oath of office on a holy book of their own choosing.

The conservative clergy viewed the White Revolution as an affront to Islam and a dangerous move toward Western modernity: Ayatollah Khomeini immediately denounced the proposed reforms, led the clerical opposition

She is correct. I own that book and read it moments ago where Lenin bragged that Russia must have famine.

The question is, are the Democrats perpetually naive, or, as my reading of history surmises, actually evil.

Carter, witnessing the Shah's attempts at modernization, still insisted on installing Ayatollah Khomeini.

Obama saw to it that the world's worst state sponsor of terrorism was guaranteed nuclear weapons.

Biden funded the Islamic fundamentalism state and invested American financing in October 7th.

Can any Democrat voter explain the above pattern?

You are a true blessing to this forum. The book in paperback only costs $16.19 at Amazon.

They can't only because they simply don't care. What the Ayatollah accomplished in Iran is pretty much what Democrats try to accomplish in the USA.

I will give some proof. Recall how the Democrats got angry when Trump banned the terrorists of Islam to get into the USA? The Democrats were furious.

I remember it being about $70. I don't see it on my shelves,, so I must have gotten it at the library.

I have tons of notes from it.

"After Carter’s election, Ebrahim Yazdi, one of the Ayatollah Khomeini’s supporters urged him to “begin to think of the ‘new possibilities’ that the expected rift between Tehran and Washington might offer.” Yazdi, an Iranian-born American citizen, wrote to him in Iraq that “the shah’s friends in Washington are out. … It is time to act.” Circumstances dictated that “having picked Khomeini to overthrow the shah, Carter and the French had to get him out of Iraq, clothe him with respectability, and set him up in Paris,” wrote Amir Taheri in “Nest of Spies.”

CIA memoranda regarding Khomeini seem to have either been deliberately ignored by the Carter administration or lost in the great governmental paperwork shuffle. One memo flatly stated, “Khomeini is determined to overthrow the shah and is unlikely to accept compromise. … He has cooperated in the past with Islamic terrorist groups.”

Carter viewed Khomeini as a religious holy man in a grass-roots revolution rather than the founding father of modern terrorism. U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young said, “Khomeini will eventually be hailed as a saint.” Iran Ambassador William Sullivan, said, “Khomeini is a Gandhi-like figure.” Adviser James Bill proclaimed in a Newsweek interview in 1979 that Khomeini was not a mad mujahid, but a man of “impeccable integrity and honesty.”

Lubrani later told me Carter was to blame, to some extent, for the current state of affairs in Iran.

Liberal Democrat Jimmy Carter apparently believes evil really does not exist. Terrorist organizations are simply human rights movements; people are basically good; and America should embrace the perpetrators while castigating the victims.

Jimmy Carter is among the number clamoring to change the worldview of terrorists from mass murderers of the innocent to “insurgents” or “liberation movements.” He is quick to indict the U.S. at every opportunity and to champion the downtrodden suicide bombers as “martyrs.”"
Welcome back Carter? * WorldNetDaily * by Michael Evans

You were told to shut up by Democrat IM2 and if he follows form, so will JoeB131.

What you bring to this forum is massive expertise, the proof is you submit links to real proof and will engage with honest posters by being honest with us all.

I did not buy the book for the sole reason I have the entire library known as the Great Books. I only read maybe 1 of my great books.

I recall moms dad as an old cripple. He yelled at the TV news. Back then, the Democrats had not purchased the press. Now they own much of the press.

At some point as a Teen I believe, Mom told me her dad had been a communist. Back when Communism was normal for the USA. He named his youngest boy after a communist. This uncle was killed by the Communists in Korea.
I never talked to him about this. I did not want to fight. I was not then well equipped to understand Democrats. HE voted only for Roosevelt. So did Mom and my relatives. We were loyal as you can imagine to Democrats. No wonder it took me 42 years to break that pact with Democrats. Democrats are very extreme and very much proponents of Communism.

Like unilaterally abrogating our defense treaty with Taiwan (ROC)? How about his "racetrack" idea for mobile ICBMs running around in the desert? On the other hand, he did straighten out the White House tennis schedule.
Recall when China wanted to control the Panama Canal? Carter says, sure, take it over.
