There are all kinds of articles that you can read that will explain to you that our founding fathers, and many intelligent people today, will tell you that extreme wealth of a few people is very very very dangerous to democracy. That's why we have the death tax, if we even have it anymore.
When a parent dies with 500 million dollars in their bank, it is not right for the kid to enherit it all. Then they become powerful without EVER contributing to society.
So, we take half of that wealth that they didn't deserve or earn in the first place, and put it in the treasury. That way it goes to the greater good.
How about this? Instead of that rich kid getting everything, we take half of their enheritence and give it to every kid for school. I think England passed that idea OVERWHELMINGLY, even with the Conservatives buying into the idea.
I'm really tired and not thinking right today. I can't type. But please do not think your tired old arguments are going to work like they did in the past. We have a progressive tax. It taxes the rich more and that money goes to things like welfare. Deal with it. We aren't a socialist society, unless you INSIST on calling it that. And if you do, fine, we'll call it that. And maybe we'll take it a step further. Maybe we'll socialize the oil companies. Maybe the banks too. (Bush already did)
But instead of just socializing the losses, we socialize the profits too. That way the government can pay their bills.
If you make a widget, trust me, we won't socialize it. You make a good product and you sell it to people, you will be ok in the free market.
But when it's Federal land the oil companies are taking oil from, you are god damn right we won't let them gouge us. They should never have made record profits. They should have shared that with us at the pumps.
But if you make a battery car, we won't socialize it.
And the radio airwaves are owned by US the public. We only allow companies to do business on OUR airwaves. And we will not let 10 rich fat cats buy up all the radio stations and spew their lies to us for another 8 years.
It's time to take the country back!!!! We the people, not them the corporations.
