The reason is not competence but money and appearance. People favor the pretty people. But our government used to be full of ugly people....Lincoln was elected because he grew a beard that covered up the ugly sufficiently that people gave him a chance.
But the truth us both sides of the political divide want to influence you. Of course so do advertisers. (Who taught the politicians). Corporations then control the news because they own the news outlets as well as the advertising dollars spent to finance the news they sell.
Which our government has abdicated its role to stop a LONG time ago. (Pre-1950's)
It's only getting worse....not better.
I see the truth evaporating altogether soon enough.

Nope....not even by appearing to be concerned with the Spirit of the laws that have been conveniently forgotten, erased, or overturned.
We no longer have a government "for the people". They are FOR themselves and a select few. The evidence is obvious no matter what they claim. Their inaction and silence says all I need to know. It doesnt even make the platforms of prospective politicians anymore on either side of the aisle....that alone should be the clue something horrible is wrong. When the choices you have are not a choice you would ever make (both bad...neither good and left deciding lesser of two evils).....STOP....don't choose evil.
