Why in the world would we need teenagers to tell kids that they “may be gay?” In what universe is that a judgment for teachers to make?

If there was a teacher who wanted to say “no it is not OK for you to be gay,” and a politician said that they shouldn’t say that, That would also be “don’t say gay?”
