The Jets have fired Saleh after a 2-3 start and friction with QB Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers got Mike McCarthy fired when he was with the Packers. Rodgers has too much authority.

Will they hire Bill Belichick?
They would have had to fire Saleh at the end of the season last year to have any shot at getting Belichick or Vrabel. Will they hire Bill Belichick?
Rodgers has definitely declined, They should have never hired Hackett. Rodgers can still play and is probably a better QB than 60% of the QB's in the league. His problem is he thinks he's still prime Aaron. They should have fired Rodgers. He is all washed up

This firing makes zero sense. I dont think that Salah is a particularly good coach but his side of the ball (defense) was playing well. Saleh getting fired and Nat Hackett keeping his job is insane.
That very well may be. He's certainly not coming in mid season.Belichick is not coming back to coaching.
As for the firing, there is talk that him wearing the flag of Lebanon on his jacket played a big part in it
I had not heard that. Is Saleh of Lebanese decent? Is support for Lebanon controversial?
Apparently that's not the first or only time he wore it on his hoodie so that seems less likely. I think it's far more likely that the rift between him and Rodgers is what caused the firing. Coupled with his intent to fire Rodgers' boy Hackett. He is of Lebanese decent and for many rightwingers, support for Lebanon is an attack on Israel.
