Saleh already had one foot out the door - the stupid decision to make a statement with his flag was the icing on the cake. Free speech had consequences in this case.

I bet if you did the due diligence and checked game footage, I'll bet that is NOT the first time he has worn that jacket. It had zero to do with his firing. Like you said, look at the record.

He wore the patch twice. Two Sundays ago, and then last Sunday. If he was 36-20 he could have gotten away with it, but at 20-36 with an owner who I believe is Jewish - he signed his own firing.

From all indications - Saleh is a great guy and a player's coach. That being said, a 20-36 record, and the stupid move of making a political statement during an NFL game has cost him his job. Not only was he fired, but he was escorted out of the building by security. Jets were not happy.

He was on the radio for decades in NYC, is a life long Jets fanatic, and a friend of Saleh's. Benigno thinks the flag was partially responsible for the firing and I would say the he is qualified to have that opinion. GROW UP
