We all know that Jesus now has a resurrected immortal body of flesh and bones. We also know that that he, as a member of the Godhead is God. So apparently there is no problem with God having a body of flesh and bones. Why would it be necessary for the Christ to resurrect with a body of flesh and bones if God the Father does not have a body of flesh and bones? It seems if God the Father is the pinnacle of perfection, then why would it be necessary for the Christ to rise with a body of flesh and bones? In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints it has been revealed by revelation that the also has a body of flesh and bones and nowhere in the Bible does it teach against this. Saying that the father is a spirit is not saying that he does not also have a body. After Jesus died and was resurrected with his body of flesh and bones, He ascended to heaven to sit down at the right hand of the Father on his throne and the Apostle Paul describes it as follows:
Hebrews 1:1-3
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
How is it that God the Father has a right hand side to sit down next to? How can Jesus be the EXPRESS image of the person of the Father if the Father doesn't also have an immortal body of flesh and bones. And again, why would it ever be necessary for the Christ to take on an immortal body if the Father, who is perfect, and whom Jesus only does that which he has seen the Father do, does not have an immortal body? makes no sense! Jesus is proof that you can be a God with a body and if he truly did only that which he saw the Father do, then God the Father would truly have a body of flesh and bones just as Jesus has.
