few people understand basketball, but everyone has an opinion



 
I agree with West.... Today's NBA teams and players cannot hold a candle to the 1980's era Lakers....
 
Even the 80's Pistons outshine today's NBA...
When I was still interested in the NFL I used to laugh at the clueless sports mouths on TV or the internet when they compiled lists of best all time players

Most of them had no historical knowledge and could not name many players from a time before they graduated from college

But there they were telling the world ALL about it

I'm not a big basketball fan generally, however I have gone to Lakers games regularly every year, dating back to the mid 60's. And for many years had season tickets.

This is just my opinion, but I would have selected the 70-71 Lakers championship team that West himself was on, as the best Laker team in franchise history from an overall personnel standpoint. West, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlain were three of the most dominant players in NBA history and arguably the best at each of their respective positions. Again, JMO
