Jason Bourne and the Myth of Ruthless CIA Spies

Saw the movie tonight and it was fun, but it is so over the top stupid.

The CIA does not do assassinations any more and if they did they would contract it out on a handshake and not leave a paper trail.

And the tech that Bourne uses and his allies are just stupid horse crap that no one has.

It is just ludicrous, but entertaining fantasy.

It is a fun movie, but too many people think it is reality for the CIA and cannot trust or tolerate that critically improtant organization, pushing for its funding to get cut each and every year because the idiot liberal cannot understand that these guys are mostly just pencil pushers.

While the NSA and other national security organizations can conduct operations within the United States, the CIA is mandated to only conduct spy operations outside of the US.

Movies always present US government agencies as ultra high-tech, uber-efficient shadowy organizations peopled by the very best and brightest.



The fact is, most of the time no part of the US government can wipe its own ass successfully (as it should be).
