We all saw Jan 6 play out in real time (well most of us)

I remember being shocked by the violence.
I remember being stunned by the restraint displayed by the Capitol police
I kept waiting for the cops to start shooting people. . I mean you just never see cops being beaten and attacked like that without them at some point t shooting

I guess my question is

When watching that… how did you see it playing out?

Did you want the rioters to start taking Congress folks as prisoners

Did you expect the cops to open fire at some point t?

Were you surprised when shots were finally fired?

How did you see that day playing out?

I had it sniffed out as a false flag from the first moment I was first informed about it.

There was no upside for anyone on the right to act like that or incite such a riot.

Once the violence started and I realized that they were literally trying to "stop the steal", it really hit me how deeply and completely these people had bought into his lies. No amount of violence would have surprised me.

The Insurrection was similiar to 9/11 in two ways: First, realizing that someone really was "at war" with us and most of us didn't know it, and second, I knew I was literally watching American history unfold in real time.

That combination was just, sad. Embarassing.

Nancy Pelosi was warned the crowd would be big and angry and did nothing.
Why?
Because she wanted to set up a nice trap that would haunt Trump and his supporters for years.
She got her wish but eventually Trump, through sheer force of will, managed to bat away all the pygmy attacks like the fake Letitia James charges and even two assassination attempts and the American people had the wisdom to reject the ridiculously team of Harris and Walz.
I remain convinced that there were outside forces at work on J6 (Antifa, etc.) to frame Trump and his supporters. Most of the protesters (and it was a protest that somehow morphed into a brief riot) were middle-aged, law-abiding folks, many of whom took selfies once they got into the Capitol ... and don't forget that many were ushered in through open doors by cops.
Some of the Capitol police officers have been proven to be liars, which adds to the controversy.
The big picture is that it was never a serious attempt to "overturn the election" or "threaten democracy". Pure left-wing claptrap. It was a protest that turned into a riot and I suspect there were some outside groups involved in that to make Trump look bad, the same Trump who asked the protesters to be "peaceful".

To this day the restraint shown on the part of the police amazes me. Once the barriers outside the Capital building were breached, since at that point members of the mob had already begun attacking officers of the law, the police should have opened fire in self defense.

I can't help noting trumples denial of what the visual evidence shows from that day is being repeated with the video evidence of Good's unjustified shooting.

Many of them talked about how stunned they were to be fighting Americans. They couldn't believe it was happening.

A lot of long term damage, physical and psychological, was done that day to Capitol Cops, that's for sure.
