I’ve seen insurgencies up close — and anti-ICE actions look eerily familiar

2 Feb 2026 ~~ By James A. Gagliano

Americans remain bitterly divided over the chaos that’s engulfed Minneapolis as President Donald Trump seeks to deport illegal-immigrant criminals.
Some see the protesters thwarting the enforcement of immigration law as “protecting friends and neighbors” — a form of righteous vigilantism.
Others contend Trump’s efforts are legal and necessary — despite the tragic deaths of two civilians who unlawfully interfered with federal enforcement action.
The tactics and behavior of Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are under deserved scrutiny in the cases of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
But what about the anti-ICE provocateurs, agitators and instigators hell-bent on disrupting and impeding immigration enforcement?
Just how do they “spontaneously” materialize en masse to scream profanities, blast whistles and block official vehicles?
On Saturday, The Post revealed a piece of that puzzle with leaked data from an operation calling itself the “Community of Service.”
The group, led by a cadre of dispatchers, uses the secure messaging app Signal and the business-focused scheduling program AirTable to track ICE activity, schedule volunteer patrollers and spy on the license plates of suspected DHS vehicles in one sector of Minneapolis.
Dispatchers and patrollers working in round-the-clock shifts can quickly rouse members to the site of any ICE action with emoji-coded text messages.
And “Community of Service” appears to be just one of many separate anti-ICE cells taking part in these disturbances, all of them covering their electronic tracks and using aliases to shield their identities.

These are criminals, not protesters

As a career FBI official who specialized in detecting and countering nefarious networks both at home and abroad, it’s all eerily familiar.
When I deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, I saw similar spotter tactics employed by any number of guerilla groups who communicated via handheld radios to initiate IEDs on roadways traveled by American troops.
The organized crime outfits and narco-traffickers I pursued during my 25-year FBI career sought to protect themselves with tactics much like those of “Community of Service,” operating in separate cells so that compromising one wouldn’t expose the rest.

Former CIA senior operations officer Rick de la Torre told FOX News Digital last week that the Minneapolis protests strongly resemble the insurgencies outlined in official US Army and CIA manuals — “decentralized movements” embedded among civilians that wield propaganda to “exploit triggering events,” prioritize rapid communications and focus on “persistent surveillance” of their foes.
No wonder FBI Director Kash Patel announced last week that his agency would be examining anti-ICE encrypted group chats on Signal to determine if users “broke the law” or “incited violence.”
Of course, opponents argue this is overreach.

Expect more of these state-sanctioned insurgency tactics to be unleashed when the enforcement of America’s immigration laws comes to a sanctuary city near you.

Commentary:
We have entered the Second Civil War and once again it's the Leftist Democrats now ideologically Marxist Socialists.
Jan 6th, 2021 was nothing compared to the Left orchestrating this anti-ICE protest. These folks are attending how-to classes and are being paid to disrupt anything that Trump is doing. They are using whistles which are high pitched and will raise a human's cortisol level which puts them into a state of anxiety.
Biden was wrong when he claimed that Trump and MAGA are our to destroy this country. It's the Democrats and their acceptance of Marxist Socialist Communism. They're doing it now.
Trump should federalize the Minnesota Nat'l Guard, back them up with the 82nd Airborne and start arresting these so called protesters that are being paid for their violence a mayhem.

I saw a lot of up close insurgency during the Guatemalan civil war. It's nasty stuff, I've written about it before. This what's going on today, is nothing (although it seems to be headed in that direction).

Do you remember when they kidnapped a few nuns and then they turned up dead? How about the one where they rounded up some peasants, decapitated them, and left their heads in front of the church?

When I was there they had a right wing guy in charge, a Trump on steroids. He had his own death squads, he wasn't going to let the commies show him up. Before I got there they had a guy named Garcia who was a real evil dude. After Montt took over they found the stolen property of police torture victims in his house, that kind of thing.

The Montt regime was a mess. They had one atrocity after another. A lot of it had to do with workers and shutdowns and stuff like that (unions, and labor officials). The scale of it got so frequent and so intense that people stopped caring about who did what, and they just wanted it to stop.

But during Montt you saw the truth about the leftards. They're nasty, violent, and persistent people. You can't get rid of them. The winning strategy is to turn everyone else against them. For that you need... y'know... maybe a false flag or something. (Or two or three). The scary part of this is that both sides end up using terror as a policy. To protect their boundaries. Kind of like Vlad the Impaler staking heads along the road.

Put it all together, and the anti-ICE movement looks less like a populist, grassroots uprising of outraged soccer moms — and more like a criminal insurgency.

On examination, what part of anything democrats do passes for an actual populist, grassroots uprising? What is frustrating is that of course this anti-ICE rioting is not some spontaneous uprising of concerned citizens, how could it be? And so fast? Of course it is a highly organized --and experienced-- criminal insurgency, that was in place for a long time prepared to defend these illegals from Trump.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING is to continually see orgs like the FBI, DHS, et al, apparently yet again caught with their pants down unprepared or unsuspecting such stuff; the same group that saw an opportunity in Trump's last rally at the Ellipse to plant pipe bombs, agents within the crowd and spies throughout Trump-friendly groups like Proud Boys is the exact same group now organizing all of this.

I'm enamored that Kash realizes people are free to ***** on social media if they don't like this or that, but there is a FINE LINE between just venting steam grumbling about the latest new tax and actually conspiring and organizing a large-scale insurrection designed to thwart the federal government from enforcing the law!

This is literally the Mexican cartels bringing a war right into Trump's backyard WITHIN the USA, meaning that all these years of liberal policies and lax border enforcement has allowed our enemies from everywhere from China to Mexico to Timbuktu to fill this country up with spies and saboteurs. And the FBI should have anticipated this, they should be prepared for this, instead of waiting until after the fact when the crime has already been done to play catch-up now with the tools and methods of our assailers.

Anything less than a city or state-wide bust of dozens if not hundreds of people involved in this tracking and signalling of internal government activities thwarting law enforcement is a total crap. This needs to be a major investigation and bust with a lot of people going to jail for essentially espionage, coercion and sedition against our LE orchestrated by a hostile foreign government to protect human and drug trafficking and gang activity, and it needs to come to fruition FAST, not many months or years from now.

I do not need to hear another worthless TV interview from James Comer about how the senate is investigating another thing.

I mean, if the ******* government cannot even protect the identities and activities of an organization like DHS and its internal police, what chance does the everyday citizen have in protecting his private information staying safe? This has reached an intolerable level where the federal government, the guys with f-15s and nukes, is being outwitted by some band of antagonists using gaming platforms to send signals to half-baked rubes like Good and Pretti.

And I'll ask again how does a hospital hire such a guy and he hold down his day job working 40 hours a week while spending his days tracking and stalking police getting his ribs bashed in?

Kash and Pam Bondi need to get their asses in gear and they better start doing something serious while we still have a functioning republic left. They have sat by while the left has literally built a network within ther USA to overthrow the USA from within and by using our own laws against us as I watch judge after judge quote which laws are blocking the USA from saving us from being taken over and falling into becoming just another central-American 3rd world country run by gangs.

And especially to that jackass Judge Andrew Napolitano who at one time had his head screwed on right who now everytime I see him is railing about the evils and offenses and excesses of the Trump Administration along with his new buddy, some Jewish professor from New York university of all places.

Your author doesn't mention how many innocent civilians he watched die during Operation Enduring Freedom.

The same racist war of aggression that looted Afghanistan has come home to roost in Minnesota; it won't get better until the racist in the White House leaves office.

I would like to see all of these "paid" protesters arrested, charged with sedition, sentenced to lengthy prison terms, stripped of their citizenship and shipped off to China, North Korea, or some other Marxist nation and good riddance.
So do I but Trump pardoned them.......................

Because Trump is a TRAITOR, along with his cult.

Of course Deep State have organised and paid for anti ICE activity .
What else would you expect?

America needs to recognise Mutants when they are created and deal with them accordingly .

Obviously the Good and Pretti incidents were the usual set -up Faked incidents --- see Miles Mathis for full details -- but that is standard again for Deep State.

Just run them off the streets and out of your country --- immediately and with full force.
You are dealing with a well organised enemy with deep pockets .

We all saw it on TV numb nuts.

Until it comes for your indiscretions. If you admitted to them, it would be easier to accept your accusations. The four years of Joe and Kamala are proof enough of your habitual fraud lying. You guys want power. If you do the same thing again, you will be thrown out again. Frankly I want Republicans to run the same type of people you do for office. They do not for the most part. Perhaps in rural areas, some will start running for office in local races and then expand.

I find it somewhat refreshing to see the Good Germans of the US MAGAtry strip off the fig leaf of freedom.
During the Obama administration, 56 individuals have died while in ICE custody. This report focuses on eight deaths during a three-year period (2010 to 2012).

Where was your outrage then? Liar.

Trump is going to triple that, just like the debt.

2025 was ICE's deadliest year in two decades. Here are ...

So, you didn’t care then…got it.

It is a psyop, whether foreign or state sponsored here we may never know. It is not and has never been a grass root thing, although a lot of people have been artificially triggered by the op. People know we're being fucked and want to strike out even if they don't know who is doing it to them, easily manipulated by social media.
