That's when I first encountered willful delusion.

I remember finding out that most of my friends thought pro wrestling was real. Not only did they vigorously defend their "faith", they were angry and belligerent if didn't agree. I was suddenly their enemy merely for suggesting that the emperor wore no clothes.

Well, they grew up. And they vote.

That's how I felt when leftists were telling me over and over again that Uncle Joe, our Dementia Patient POTUS, was not a pedophile and he was doing cartwheels while his staff tried to keep up with him and was such a strong leader. Some leftists actually said he was the greatest POTUS in modern history while I kept seeing him falling asleep on the job, tripping up steps, falling on stages and telling long stories about Uncle Bosie being eaten by New Guinians. 🤔

Define "real"
The action is real
It's scripted, like every movie that you have ever seen.

You really feel that this belongs in Politics?

My Gawd, karma is indulgent.

Yeah. You're just as bad as they are. Congrats!

Wait, I think that was you telling us all that stuff about Biden being extremely smart and savvy and being the greatest POTUS in the 21st century!
You think wrong. Try again.

They seemed smart enough to him, what do you mean?
At first I thought they were complete idiots, but over time I came to a more sympathetic view. What they were really saying was "It's fun to pretend this stuff is real, so don't spoil it for us.". I was ok with that.

But to see the same willful delusion take over politics is just sad. Maybe it's more fun for the partisans, but it's killing the country.

Okay, I'll bite.

You "not Democrats" are at least more creative in your speculating than Democrats.

What is the delusion that Trump supporters share? What do we believe that is verifiably not real? I'm not asking what opinions we have that you disagree with, but for a factual belief similar to believing Wrasslin' is real.

Does it also involve midgets and Polish strongmen?
