I won't be around either way. Other people's problems are other people's problems.Christ will save us from our race to self-destruction.![]()
Well I am guessing humanity kills itself well before that billion years gets here
Bezos can just shoot some breeders up in the air right before it hits and they can replenish the planet ten minutes later after the strike is over. The billion years is just a best guess. Odds being what they are that gives us plenty of time for the long overdue planetary killer strike by a mile wide asteroid. The last one was only $65 million years ago. Hardly anything compared to a billion years.
Which he never acknowledges even though most do.Correlation does not prove causation. You are mistaking the natural warming of an interglacial period for AGW.

Even more revealing is that while the entire surface of the earth shows evidence of repeated cataclysms the organisms that evolved were able to survive and continue to evolve. Likely because they saw the upheaval coming and migrated to safer places where they could continue to evolve uninterrupted. Why do you think the meteor impact 65 million years ago was a planetary killer? ... birds survived and prospered ... mammals survived ... insects survived and terrorized birds ...
Only dinosaurs perished ... and some evidence shows they were already in deep trouble ... the breaking of Gondwana at 100 million years ago caused a new Ice Age to occur ... that's death to cold-blooded animals ... if the meteor didn't kill off the dinosaurs, the ice caps would have ...
Almost all life of Earth is single cell bacteria ... and bacteria doesn't care about meteors ...

Well 90 percent plus .... Yes it actually selected the survivors.... There's a good chance that if the dinosaurs didn't get put aside man would never have made it.Why do you think the meteor impact 65 million years ago was a planetary killer? ... birds survived and prospered ... mammals survived ... insects survived and terrorized birds ...

In case no one caught it this post, #29, was a tongue-in-cheek response. I do not believe in evolution.Even more revealing is that while the entire surface of the earth shows evidence of repeated cataclysms the organisms that evolved were able to survive and continue to evolve. Lots here care enough to argue with me about it.No one cares ...
Or God was just through with dinosaurs. Why do you think the meteor impact 65 million years ago was a planetary killer? ... birds survived and prospered ... mammals survived ... insects survived and terrorized birds ...

After 60 million years you'd think dino bones would be buried deeper.I've presented you with my argument ... I've received no answer yet ... why do you think the DNA molecule cannot be changed? ... it's just a couple of atoms differences between bases ... the A changes to T ... you know, evolution ... if this change causes the individual to produce more offspring, then this change will be passed on and after so many generations will dominate the entire gene pool ... a "beneficial" mutation ...
This mutation need only happen once ... that's enough to eventually come to dominate the entire taxon ... thus the basic assumption of ToE: "Once is enough" ...
The Bible doesn't mention dinosaurs ... "rocks shaped like gigantic vertebra is a curiosity ... but they're just rocks, the way God created them" ... isn't that the proper "main stream" Christian opinion? ... God likes His practical jokes after all ...
Or maybe dinosaurs have nothing to do with what was created ...
After 60 million years you'd think dino bones would be buried deeper.
