Well, to start with, we can do actual background checks. that would be a good start.
If the media can find out all about Tyler Robinson's past in a few days, maybe look into him before he buys a gun.
Laws are meaningless if they are ineffective or not enforced.
You would?
Even though he didn't die, where are your posts against all the people (including Trump) who spread memes mocking the attack on Paul Pelosi?
We do have background checks. If you purchase a gun from a gun store, you are required to have one. Even at gun shows, you are required to have one. The gun show loophole that is often cited is when you buy a gun from someone out in the parking lot, which is going to happen no matter what laws are passed.
In regards to Robinsons past, what was there that would have prevented him from passing a background check?
Thats the difference...he didnt die, he went to the hospital and was out in 6 days. Thats not to make light of it, but had he died, people wouldnt have been mocking him
That might be true...but I certainly can't do it with anyone else...and why would I want to? what was even the point of your claim? You can show us proof only registered Democrats have abortions at anytime.
There is no constitutional right between bankers and citizens being broken there JoeBob.Guy, get real. The "background" check consists of someone pinky swearing they aren't criminals or drug abusers. We saw how useless that was in the Hunter Biden Trial.
Instead of filling out a form, do what banks and employers do, a REAL BACKGROUND CHECK.
Who are you quoting? yourself? so far you are the only one to make that claim."It's okay when we do it" is not an answer.

Bullshit. Some of those memes were pretty disgusting, making fun of the man being nearly beaten to death in his underwear.
"It's okay when we do it" is not an answer.
The federal firearms background check looks through the NCIS for things like mental health, felonies, domestic violence etc. If that is failing its not because we dont have the process in place, its because agencies are not reporting and the database is outdated. So, perhaps we need to make sure that disqualifying infractions are properly reported.
Why would a credit check, employment history be relevant to purchasing a firearm? Maybe the drug test, but then again, drug convictions should show up on the NCIS check.
Or we could assign someone to actually, you know, check.
Oh, I don't know, finding out the guy just got fired would probably stop a workplace shooting.
They do check. We just need to make sure the database is accurate. Unless you think there's going to be a governemnt branch that investigates people, interviews friends, family and co workers, calls former employers and asks about their opinions on the person, for every firearm application they get.
How is not being employed or in school a red flag to a gun purchase?Checking is calling their family, their friends, the police department in their town, maybe their employer or school. (And if they are unemployed and not in school, that should be a big red flag.)
How is not being employed or in school a red flag to a gun purchase?
What if was laid off? Couldn't afford school ?It means you can't do basic functions in life.
What if was laid off? Couldn't afford school ?
What if he already owns five guns, including an AR15 and gets laid off but has had an interview and a good prospect of a job opportunity? Then he doesn't need a gun.
Frankly, those are the last people you want having guns. He just got laid off and wants to buy a gun now? That sounds like a workplace shooting looking for a place to happen.

Well, I'd be fine with the police holding on to his guns until he got a new job and finished his probationary period.
Look, we can't do much about the guns already out there, unfortunately.
But every mass shooter is usually someone who acquired his gun in the days or weeks before the shooting. Let's at least start there, M'kay?
What if you have a trust fund and don't work? Is that sufficient to get around your proposed ban of gun ownership by the unemployed?
