There are Second Amendment proponents who go further than I do. That’s true. But, even so, I believe that even the NRA recognizes a need to deny guns and licenses and gun permits out of the hands of people with such genuine serious mental illness.

Even the NRA official position allows for gun denial to people with adjudicated serious mental health problems. Unlike you, they of course are concerned with due process.

A Washington Post poll (from 2013) found 91% of NRA members supported laws to prevent people with a mental illness from acquiring guns.

what can you do? The laws that keep people with mental issues from owning guns already exist. About the only thing you can do is just delete the second amendment and ban all guns, but then you have the problem of there being 300 to 400 million guns in circulation.

Well, to start with, we can do actual background checks. that would be a good start.

If the media can find out all about Tyler Robinson's past in a few days, maybe look into him before he buys a gun.
