No. It works good. The moist hot potato transfers heat to the pipe very effectively. You can mold the potatoes to the shape of the pipe for maximum surface contact and wrap a towel around them. Replace the potatoes as they get cold.

I disagree. I live in a four seasons area and I love them all. Skiing in the winter, travel in the spring and fall. Lakes and boating in the summer. LOL, but the bourbon is good too.
