Israel's War Against Hamas - Updates

AG @AGHamilton29:
Worth watching.

There were so many horrors on 10/7. Among them is what Adam mentions here about his family. I am aware of at least two other families who found out their family members were killed because Hamas uploaded the deaths on the victim's social media during the attack.

Hamas terrorists murdered Bracha's grandmother in her own home.

They then took her phone, filmed her butchered body & posted the video on the elderly woman’s Facebook page to hurt her family.

🚨 The IDF released intercepted communications among Hams terrorists during a pivotal moment in the war. This information reveals several key points:
➡️ Hams was in complete panic due to the IDF's advances.
They were redirecting all aid towards their militants.
➡️There is full collaboration between Hams and UNRWA.
➡️At one point, the Hams terrorists were openly threatening their leadership (Sinwar and Deif), even expressing intentions to settle scores with them.
➡️Hams leadership sent people to beat and threaten the wives of activists who were complaining.

Hamas leaders hoarded stolen aid, leaked recordings show.
Pressure from the Biden administration drove continued supply shipments to Gaza, despite the terrorist group's theft at the expense of civilians.
(Feb. 17, 2025 / JNS)

Newly uncovered Hamas radio communications from the Swords of Iron war, aired by Israel’s Channel 12 News on Sunday, reveal internal tensions within the terrorist organization, particularly over the distribution of humanitarian aid.

The recordings feature operatives accusing the leadership of hoarding stolen supplies for themselves. One operative even threatens, “Tell the leadership in Khan Yunis—we’ll tear you apart.”

Humanitarian aid became a focal point in the November 2023 ceasefire deal. Hamas had agreed to release hostages in exchange for increased aid entering Gaza, and after the deal, 250 trucks of humanitarian supplies entered the Strip daily. However, these recordings reveal that much of this aid, intended for the civilian population, ended up with Hamas leadership.

Jerusalem’s concerns about the aid focused on how it bolstered Hamas’s strength. Israeli officials argued that it primarily benefited the terrorist organization, enabling it to continue its operations.

Israeli officials shared the recordings with their counterparts in the Biden administration, attempting—unsuccessfully—to push back against White House pressure to continue allowing the daily entry of 250 aid trucks into Gaza after the November 2023 truce collapsed.

A security source quoted in the report stated, “The Americans helped us a lot at the start of the war, but at some point, they tied one of our hands. Not only did the flow of humanitarian aid not feed Gaza’s civilians—it helped Hamas recover, and in that sense, we helped them get back on their feet.”

FDD: ‘Neither Hamas Nor the Palestinian Authority’: Netanyahu Rejects Reports of Gaza Power Transfer.
February 17, 2025.
Latest Developments
Netanyahu Rejects Post-War PA Governance in Gaza: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on February 17 that “the day after the war in Gaza, neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority will be there.” Netanyahu’s statements came following unconfirmed Arabic media reports that the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist organization had agreed to a conditional transfer of power in Gaza to the PA following pressure from Egypt.

Trump’s Plan Embraced: Netanyahu said that he is “committed” to U.S. President Donald Trump’s “plan to create a different Gaza,” — a reference to Trump’s proposal that would allow Palestinians to voluntarily relocate to other nations while Gaza is rebuilt under United States oversight. Egypt has reportedly crafted an alternative plan to present to the United States later this month that aims to rebuild Gaza within three to five years without displacing Palestinian civilians.

Next Phase of Hostage Deal in Negotiations: Israel will send a delegation to Egypt on February 17 for talks on phase 2 of the current ceasefire and hostage deal. The contingent traveling to Cairo will be led by Brig.-Gen. (res.) Gal Hirsch, the Coordinator for Hostages and the Missing, and another official known as “M.,” from Israel’s internal security agency, the Shin Bet.

FDD Expert Response
“Suppose the United States and Israel identify a suitable candidate to replace Hamas in governing the Gaza Strip. In that case, all parties must recognize that Hamas and other terrorist factions will pose significant obstacles to implementing these plans. Achieving success will require Hamas and its allies to willingly relinquish power, which seems unlikely unless they are forcefully removed. Given Hamas’ track record of prioritizing its rule over civilian lives and its willingness to endure substantial losses to maintain control, it is improbable that the group will abandon its position without another round of significant fighting.” — Joe Truzman, Senior Research Analyst and Editor at FDD’s Long War Journal

“The PA can barely maintain control in the West Bank, where Iran-backed terrorists have dug in, and violence has skyrocketed. West Bank terrorists not only continue to perpetrate lethal attacks against Israelis but also present a credible threat to Mahmoud Abbas’s leadership. The idea that the aged, ailing, and deeply unpopular Abbas could govern Gaza and prevent a Hamas resurgence in the enclave is far-fetched to say the least.” — Enia Krivine, Senior Director of FDD’s Israel Program and National Security Networks.

Israeli majority rejects Palestinian Authority taking over Gaza, survey
Sixty percent of Israelis, including 56% of Arab Israelis, oppose integrating the Palestinian Authority into a future arrangement in Gaza, according to a recent survey by the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA).

The poll was conducted among a representative sample of more than 700 Jewish and Arab Israelis aged 18-65. Some 62% of the respondents, including 68% of Jews and 25% of Arabs, said they were concerned about an attack originating from the West Bank similar to the October 7 massacre.

The survey was carried out by Dr. Menachem Lazar’s Lazar Research Institute. It reflected a shift in public opinion regarding a potential Palestinian state.

Following the October 7 massacre, 67% of Israelis, including 75% of Jews, opposed establishing a Palestinian state along the 1967 lines, according to the survey. Forty-two percent of Arabs supported the establishment of a Palestinian state without conditions, which was a 10% increase from a previous survey.

“The Israeli public is very clear about what it expects from Israel’s leadership when considering ‘the day after’ the war in Gaza,” the report said.

The prospect of normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia has not swayed Israeli opinion, the survey indicated. Opposition to a Palestinian state remained more than 60% even when normalization with Riyadh was offered as an incentive, the report said.

The possibility of Hamas retaining any control in Gaza, whether as a civil or military body, was overwhelmingly rejected by the respondents. The survey found that 82% of Israelis, including 90% of Jews and 33% of Arabs, opposed Hamas remaining in any civilian capacity.

Regarding the notion of Hamas maintaining military power, 94% of Jewish respondents and 46% of Arab respondents opposed the idea.

Marking 500 days, hostage families press gov’t for swift release of all 73.
(Feb. 17, 2025 / JNS).

Members of the Tikva Forum for Families of Hostages, which represents relatives who oppose concessions to Hamas, urged the Israeli government on Monday to leverage U.S. President Donald Trump’s support to get all 73 remaining captives out of Gaza by March 1, when the first phase of the ceasefire is due to expire.

Speaking at a press conference outside the Knesset marking 500 days since Hamas kidnapped their loved ones during the Oct. 7, 2023, invasion, Tikva co-founder Tzvika Mor opened by addressing Cabinet ministers who were set to convene to discuss the next stage of the Gaza truce.

“Today, you will talk about our loved ones who remain there,” Mor said. “We told you for 500 days that this way, you will not succeed in bringing everyone back, because talking to Hamas is a waste of time. You decided to negotiate, you decided to go for an agreement: Bring everyone back together.”

Kosher🎗🧡 @koshercockney:
The is Kim Damti, an Irish Citizen 🇮🇪 that was brutally murdered on October 7th by Hamas.

Could you imagine her family knowing how certain Irish people like President Michael D. Higgins have been behaving lately?

Here is her story and some words from the heart from her family:

She was at the Nova Festival.

Her mother said Kim called her at 6:30 a.m. as Hamas was attacking the party, and asked:

“Mummy, what should I do?” Her son took the phone and told her to seek shelter, and that was the last they heard from her.

Her body was discovered several days later, and she was buried in Gedera on October 12.

Damti is survived by her parents, Jennifer and Gidon, and four siblings. Her family owns the well-known Falafel Damti stand in Gedera, where Kim grew up.

Her cousin, Hadas Damti Padlon, described Kim as “beloved, beautiful and good, whose only sin was going to a party to dance and enjoy.”

“Kimmy was a source of pride and joy to her parents and siblings,” she wrote.

“Kim was a beautiful, gentle, light-filled girl, there was nobody who didn’t love her, she was a ray of sunshine in the world!”

Her relative, Nasrin Damti, described Kim as “my angel… I am broken and destroyed and cannot believe that I won’t get to see your beautiful smile anymore.

My Kimmy, you were the angel of the family and especially of me. Watch over us from above, and give us the strength to deal with the horrible pain.”

At her funeral, her brother Daniel Damti eulogized her and spoke of her final moments.

“Kimmy, our flower, my little sister… you were always full of generosity. You left for the party and I told you, ‘Go, have fun, this is your time.'” He said they last spoke at 7 a.m. and she told him she was hiding out in a shelter, “and I was relieved. I didn’t know that that’s where it would end.”

“You will always stay in my heart, smart and pure, I’ll never forget you. I promise you I’ll protect everyone, the whole family. Our angel, you will always stay beautiful in our memories,” he said.

At the ceremony, her sister, Emily Damti, lamented the loss of “Kimmy, my little sister, my sunshine, my flower girl, my successful, beautiful sister. I can’t get your smile out of my head. I can’t imagine summing up your life when you just started living.”

Emily said she “received a gift to spend 22 years by your side, I was privileged to be your sister.

You managed to do so much during that time, an excellent student, who also found time for fun… What a treasure was stolen from me. I wanted to do so many more things with you… I will always remember you dancing with a smile on your face. My angel.”

Family, friends fear for fate of Nepali hostage Bipin Joshi: ‘He saved our lives’.
February 17, 2025.

When Hamas terrorists stormed the farm he was working on in Kibbutz Alumim, Nepali agriculture student Bipin Joshi risked his life to save his friends, who fear for his fate after 500 days he has been in captivity in Gaza.

Unlike some others seized during the October 7, 2023 attack — when thousands of terrorists killed 1,200 people and abducted 251 in southern Israel, sparking the war in Gaza — there has been no information about the 24-year-old since that day.

“He knew nothing about this war, and it’s been 16 months that he is captive,” said Himanchal Kattel, a close friend who has Joshi to thank for surviving the attack.

“People should talk more about him,” said Kattel, also a Nepali agriculture student who was working with Joshi at the farm in Alumim, near the Gaza border.

Few in Israel remember Joshi’s name or recognize the face of one of the five foreign hostages still held in Gaza since the 2023 attack — just two of whom, including Joshi, are thought to be alive.

In Nepal, his father Mahananda Joshi told AFP the family was extremely worried, waiting “for any news — anything — about him.”

“So many others have been released but our son remains captive,” said the father.

Released hostage Emily Damari at the Kotel/Western wall: “In the holiest place for the Jewish people I came to pray for Gali, Ziv and all the hostages who are in Hamas captivity for 500 days. They have to come back as soon as possible.”

It's customary to leave a note in the cracks of the wall with a prayer and request, and Emily wrote: "With the help of God, may all Israeli hostages who are held in Hamas captaincy return in the coming days. Give Gali and Ziv health, strength to survive. Give them faith to know they’ll be back home so on."

Seth Mandel: The End of the ‘Deliberate Starvation’ Lie

Turns out you really can prove a negative, some of the time.

Israeli researchers have released a study of the food aid allowed into Gaza during the current war and—surprise!—there was no genocide, no starvation policy, no manmade famine. (At least none made by Israel.)

As Haaretz reports, possibly through gritted teeth:

“In the study, Israeli researchers and doctors examined the quantity and nutrient composition of the food that aid organizations brought into Gaza during the study period in order to examine whether they met the ‘Sphere’ international standards for nutrition for a population in a humanitarian crisis.

“Between January and July 2024, 478,229 tons of food entered the Gaza Strip in 28,734 shipments by land, sea, and air, the study found. The quantity of food provided an average of 3,004 calories per person per day, based on 98 grams of protein, 61 grams of fat, and 23 milligrams of iron.”

Israeli officials have been saying this throughout the war: They let in 3,000 calories per person per day, more than the estimated daily caloric intake recommended by the FDA. In fact, 3,000 calories is markedly more than required, according to the FDA, for everyone but active males.

And before anyone suggests that this seven-month average could be thanks to one or even two months of very high levels of food aid, worry not: Of the seven months studied, per-person calorie levels surpassed the recommended minimum in six of them. The outlier was a month in which major combat operations coincided with Israeli activists’ efforts to sabotage the aid caravans’ ability to travel through the crossings.

Crucially, the study points out: “While reliable data do not exist for critical dimensions of food access and consumption across Gaza, these estimates suggest that adequate amounts of nutritious food were being transported into the Gaza Strip during most of the first half of 2024.”

In other words, Israel did its part. And here’s where the actual war crime comes in: We know for a fact that Hamas hijacked aid convoys, hoarded food and resold some of it at marked-up prices while keeping the rest for themselves, and even shot Gazans who tried to accept food-aid deliveries.

Hamas treats hostages like Hitler treats Jews": an unusual reaction of outrage in the Arab world.

The world is shocked by the condition of the hostages who were released in the center of Gaza / The Telegraph reports "final torture" at the release ceremony, the BBC describes their difficult situation, and in the Arab world - an unusual comparison to the conduct of the Nazis.
News Agencies. 08/02/2025.

The harsh images of the three abductees released today (Saturday) caused shock and sharp condemnation in the world media, with a senior Arab expert on Middle East affairs comparing the behavior of Hamas to that of the Nazis. "This is an inhuman act that goes beyond any possible condemnation." Alongside this, an Arab diplomat from one of the mediating countries, involved in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas, told here news that the manner in which the Israeli hostages were released by Hamas "causes concern" and that "sometimes the release process is disturbing".

The British newspaper "Telegraph" described how the abductees - Ohad Ben Ami, Eli Sharabi and Or Levy - were presented on stage as "shockingly thin", and presented to a screaming audience in a humiliating ceremony that included a forced interview by a masked Hamas terrorist. "The light disappeared from his eyes," testified Eli Sharabi's brother-in-law in an interview with the BBC. "Alli usually has a smiling face, and it was the light that disappeared from his eyes that shocked me, along with the look of confusion on his face."

The New York Times described the event as "theatrical", with a specially cleared square decorated with green Hamas flags, armed fighters on white trucks, and festive pop music playing in the background. The three were brought in in an extremely emaciated state with each of them surrounded by at least two fighters. The British media emphasized the staged clothing: Sharabi and Ben Ami wore brown clothes, probably in imitation of the uniforms of Israeli prisoners, while Levi, who was kidnapped from the Nova party, was dressed in clothes similar to IDF uniforms.

The "Telegraph" notes that the condition of the three stands in stark contrast to the condition of the abductees who were released in the past, especially the women, "who were reported to have been fed and cared for better in the days before their release." The British newspaper points out that unlike previous releases, in which the abductees looked "visibly frightened" when the crowd gathered around them on their way to the Red Cross vehicles, this time the ceremony was more organized. However, the staged TV-style interviews "replaced one form of abuse with another."
