The way I see it this is a debate over nothing because it's a classic case where both sides of the debate are right.
They attack the West because of Israel
AND also because they were indoctrinated by a totalitarian ideology that wants to drag the rest of the world to the 7th century, the worst kind of dictatorship because it not only takes away the political rights of the citizens but also interferes with their private lives.
Take the 9-11 ringleader Mohamed Atta, for instance, he spent most of his life in Egypt seeing the IDF shoot Palestinians and this was the primary seed of his anti-americanism but he was also a committed salafist someone who considered America a threat to the theocratic dictatorship he would like to see in all muslim countries.
Islamic totalitarianism and the jewish racial dictatorship are not mutually excludent causes of terrorism, Hollie.
Why anyone would believe they are is beyond me.
