Israeli Authorities Mostly Ignore Settler Attacks on Palestinian Village

...Settlers from Esh Kodesh and Keda have attacked Qusra more than three times in recent months. The first time, they attacked at dawn and burned six of the villagers’ cars. A few days later, they attacked and damaged one of the houses in Qusra. The third time, they attacked a house in the south of the village. So some villagers called for help through the mosque’s loudspeakers and dozens responded to protect the village from the settlers.

On that day, Feb. 23, Hilmi Hassan was wounded by an explosive bullet in his abdomen. Osama Rami, 15, was hit by a bullet in the eye. Thirteen others were injured and transferred to a hospital in Nablus. That was the 43rd attack on the village in three years, as documented by the Qusra village council.

Qusra’s people feel that no one hears them and no one cares about their suffering, according to Abdel Azim Wadi, the head of the village council.

Wadi is 40 years old while the rest of the village council heads south of Nablus are in their 50s and 60s. Wadi said, “The settlements are perched on the village’s chest from three directions, east, south and west. The most ruthless are Esh Kodesh and Keda. They attack the village late at night or at dawn. They burn mosques, shops and cars and cut down trees and kill livestock. If we confront them they fire at us

Palestinian child stone throwers are abducted from their homes at night, interrogated without parent or lawyer present - and jailed. Settlers seldom are prosecuted until they pose a threat to the Israeli government.

Some of these settler groups have started attacking Israeli military bases and that has started some dialogue, but little is done when they attack palestinians.

That's the way I feel. The law needs to be applied equally and justly and children should be treated differently than adults.

I agree guys, both sides need to be treated equally ! Israelis are no more important than Palestinians.

However, in the incidents where ISraeli authority DID defend the Palestinians, do you think it will ever be reported? No.

And if the Palestinians did something good and non violent, do you think it will ever be reported?

Sometimes, the Israeli's eff up and when it comes to equality in justice and protection - that seems to be the case.
