For the few who still believe this is just a local squabble between some terrorists in Lebanon, and Israel....
More and more pundits (oooh, there's a reliable source) are saying that this is really a part of the larger war between Iran and the civilized world; and that countried like Syria, and groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, are just being used by Iran as proxies to foment the trouble they want for the Western powers. Maybe, maybe not. But every day, more evidence surfaces that supports that contention.

Israel Bombs Syrian Arms En Route to Hezbollah

PARIS -- Israel bombed a convoy carrying arms from Syria to Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon about two days ago, Israeli Housing Minister Meir Sheetrit said in a newspaper interview previewed on Wednesday.
"Barely two days ago, our air force had to bombard convoys of trucks from Damascus which were transporting arms supplies destined for Hezbollah," Sheetrit told French daily La Croix.
Lebanese security sources said on Monday that Israeli aircraft hit three trucks at the main Lebanese crossing point into Syria and that two of the trucks were carrying aid.
