Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said on Friday that “thousands” of ISIS-K terrorists have been released from the prison at the Bagram Air Base since President Joe Biden’s administration abandoned it on July 1.

Strange how truth always seems to show up eventually.

You’re right - only 5 to 6 years ago they didn’t even know they were being referred to as ISIS-K, at least according to a couple of educated Afghanistan nationals who study the continuing chaos of the ME. The interview was made 5 to 6 years ago, and stated they had never heard that name before, even though they were familiar with the group members and its leader at the time from Pakistan. They implied it must’ve been a media-made label to distinguish them, but at that time the group itself didn’t call themselves that lol but all of a sudden it became a thing a couple years ago so then I guess they started to call themselves ISIL-K or ISIS-K (K being a reference to the original lands that their ancestors ruled many centuries ago).
