"ISIS is contained". So declared Barack Obama on Friday, Nov 13. Several hours later, Paris was attacked.
So much for governing by wishful thinking.
Most oblivious president in American history.
If you listen to what he said he was talking about territory. Territorially they are contained. They aren't going to get any larger.
The Kurds with allied support have retaken Sinjar. This is the city that was in the news a year ago where the Ezidi people were forced to climb up that mountain and aid was flown in.
One can only imagine the ankle biting of conservatives the first six months of WW2.
"The damn Democrats can't run a war, we're losing on all fronts." Which was true. The first six months of that war the allies were getting their asses kicked everywhere. (for this post I am referring to the first six months of US involvement. Though before we joined-in the allies had been getting their asses kicked for the previous two years as well)
But a war doesn't last six months. It lasts until its over. And there will be advances and there will be times of stalled movement and maybe even taking a step back. Mostly because our military isn't on the ground fighting. Otherwise it would be over in a week or two.
Conservative media has conditioned many conservatives to flail their arms and screech at the drop of a pin.
Relax, the enemy can't win. And we can't win in one day. But in time we will.
Such are the realities of war.
