I'm trying to remember the last thing I bought from Canada or Mexico, and I think it goes back 5-6 years, where I picked up some GM brand elect. components for vintage cars/trucks, made in Mexico & CAN. In other terms, big deal, I figure Trump knows more than leftists who cry foul no matter what he does.Today, President Donald Trump made the colossal mistake of putting on across the board tariffs on exports from Canada and Mexico. This self-inflicted trade war Trump got us into will definitely raise prices for ordinary Americans which is the last thing we need! This is just another display of Donald Trump's alarming shortcomings in being President he is an extremely conscience depraved individual, he is practically a blind man when it comes to identifying the good. He couldn't find the Holy Grail if the chest that holds the grail had its lid open and it was four feet in front of him. Fortunately, America is a country where the rule of law is held paramount! I am not a legal expert but from watching the news it seems that by law the President of the United States does not have the power to institute tariffs just because he does not think it is right the trade imbalance America has with a certain country, the authority by which President Trump is instituting these tariffs is that if he can declare an emergency than he does have such power. I don't think there is grounds to legally fight the designation of an emergency with Mexico because of the amount of illegal drugs transiting the Mexico/U.S. border and the amount of people illegally emigrating through that border. However, I think the border with Canada is a whole other story, I don't think a fair Judge can conclude that the grounds lie for the President to declare an emergency on America's northern border. President Trump says there is a problem with fentanyl crossing the northern border well the facts don't bear that out last year the American government caught between forty and fifty pounds of fentanyl trying to be smuggled across the northern border that is peanuts if one goes into the Home Depot and gets a bag of topsoil such a bag weighs approximately forty pounds this northern smuggling route isn't a crisis for America it is the southern routes from the fentanyl labs in Mexico. As for illegal emigration, the problem stems from dysfunctional and impoverished countries in Central and Southa America where their citizens are fleeing their home country and entering America through the southern border. The merits of the issue are not with President Trump on declaring an emergency from Canada and a case should be brought in Federal Court to stop this designation for Canada on such grounds so that these catastrophic tariffs on exports from Canada can be permanently removed and the catastrophic harm that is unfolding stopped!
So it does not affect you. It does for all of those who do shop with those countries.I'm trying to remember the last thing I bought from Canada or Mexico, and I think it goes back 5-6 years, where I picked up some GM brand elect. components for vintage cars/trucks, made in Mexico & CAN. I didn't read you post, because you can't be bothered to create paragraphs, making it difficult to read.
In answer to the question in the thread title, under the USMCA Agreement which Trump negotiated and signed, it is illegal for any in party to the Agreement, to arbitrarily slap tariffs on any of the other parties, except in the case of an actual trade dispute.
In other words, what Trump did violates the Agreement he negotiated and signed. Hope you don't live in any of these states.
Our economy is already in the shitter and all he is doing is making it worse.
The courts may well decide against the tariffs. They have contracts to provide electricity, they stop, and they will lose in court big time.
So are yours but they do provide entertainment. There is no human being who is completely useless. The worst among us serve society by being perfect examples of what not to be.
MAGA Cult members fit into that description.
Yeah but Trump is the guy who made this "very bad deal" for the USA, the last time he was in office.
You're buying our oil at 25% below market value. How can you call this "trade abuse".
