To be able to stand in a court of law and the government be required to present evidence in the light of day and for a persons ability to challenge that evidence in an fair and impartial setting. Because when the ends justify the means today for one group, then the Constitution has no meaning and the polticial elite (at that time) can be despots doing as they will as no one will stop them because they have no respect for the law.
