Bingo is more of a social gathering for retired and elderly people.
You get to talk to other people, be out in public with something to do, and meet new people.

Sure it's gambling, but it's not like horse racing, poker, or billiards where you plop down hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Bingo costs pennies next to all the other gambling games out there.

Your odds at an HONEST bingo game are pretty good, compared to the ones that cheat.

There`s a lot more people blowing large wads of money dialing a gambling site they see advertised on tv. At least they don`t have to blow their money on gasoline to drive to bingo.

I have no idea, but I belong to an ethnic (Slovak) social club that likely couldn`t exist without suckers putting money in those things and they`re not feeding those machines quarters. One could leave the club a couple hundred dollars richer, but the odds are better that they`ll lose money. For some reason, those machines are only legal in clubs but not Ralph`s Tavern.

I play Duplicate Contract Bridge .

Isn't that really just complicated Bingo for brighter people ?
It is neither financially rewarding or fulfilling . But better than TV or Netflix etc
