With a weaponized Supreme Court latching onto make-believe cases to legislate that discrimination against legal marriages is legal, where is the nation headed?

John Adams who wrote to his wife Abigail that “My religion you know is not exactly conformable to that of the greatest part of the Christian World,” proclaimed in the Treaty of Tripoli that “the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion.”

Thomas Jefferson, intensely interested in religious philosophy and an enthusiastic proponent of religions freedom, emphasize the need for “a wall of separation between church and state.”

One religious sect that has been increasing politically-intrusive, Southern Baptists, lost nearly half a million members in 2022

The long, slow decline of the nation’s largest Protestant denomination continues.

Membership in the Southern Baptist Convention was down by nearly half a million in 2022…

the SBC had 13.2 million members in 2022, down from 13.68 million in 2021. That loss of 457,371 members is the largest in more than a century…
Once a denomination of 16.3 million, the SBC has declined by 1.5 million members since 2018, and by more than 3 million members since 2006. The COVID-19 pandemic played a role in the downturn, as did the reality that as older members die off, there are fewer young people to replace them.

What remain the nation's largest Protestant denomination is still adamant that a woman should submit to the will of her man, even if he’s a flaming anal aperture.

It decrees that a woman’s reproductive freedom should be abrogated to politicians, predominantly men, of course.

It vehemently opposes gender equality in marriage, in contrast to the overwhelming majority of Americans who are supportive of it.

Dominated by aging white men without a college degree, it is in denial of scientific awareness, particularly in climatology, and in medicine that recognizes conditions such as gender dysphoria. The thumpers insist that children suffering from the condition must be neglected rather than treated.
It’s hardly surprising that their veneration of a court-declared sexual abuser remains fanatical. The shrinking Southern Baptist Convention remains a seething hotbed of Trumpery,

Bart Barber, after being re-elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention, called Trump “a demonstrably evil man.”
“He’s vain, vulgar, vicious and vindictive,” Al Jackson, a retired pastor from Auburn, Alabama succinctly summed up the sore loser of the 2020 presidential election.
And what rough beast,

For years we heard how SC decisions we didn't like were just tough shit...."Live with it" they said....Now look how they react when they don't get the decisions they want....The world is ending in their eyes....Good grief...

It was founded on what taxes were and are also if you want to quote people. Chelsea Clinton's wedding cost was 3 million dollars. Enough said.

Statistically speaking, it's on the decline. However, in the last 15 years, these people and organizations have made enough inroads into town offices and school boards, state legislatures, and the judiciary to make it seem like its on the rise. When actually, it's just a culmination of a plan almost two decades in the making. However, like governors, this too shall pass. There aren't enough of them to go around. Sooner or later, the pendulum will swing back to reality. I expect most of these decisions that the SC struck down to be reinstated in my lifetime.

Meanwhile we have this Biden asshole who is dumber than a door knob.

Twice in one week, President Joe Biden has mistakenly referred to the war in Iraq instead of Ukraine.
It happened once at a campaign event in Maryland last Tuesday and then again speaking about Russian President Vladimir Putin Wednesday at the White House.

"It's hard to tell, but he's clearly losing the war in Iraq," the president told reporters.

With a weaponized Supreme Court latching onto make-believe cases to legislate that discrimination against legal marriages is legal, where is the nation headed?
Just listen to their words. The answers are there: "At war", "the enemy", "final battle", "Good vs. Evil". Very biblical.

This is an asymmetrical contest. The two ends of the spectrum are approaching it very differently.

What I wonder is if they think these victories are permanent. It's no longer about changing hearts and minds, it's about beating evil. There is always a pushback to something like that. In fact, that's what THIS is: Pushback.

It's a shame now that pretty much everything is all or nothing, no collaboration. Just constant, wild swings back and forth.

Discriminate against people who want to marry? You mean like it is legal for the state to discriminate against polygamists who are not allowed to legally marry?

You have no problem with this, nor does the Left.

Why? What about the step children of the LGTB movement, who are the bisexuals who might want a group marriage? Hmm?

Incidentally, why is the state involved in marriage at all?

Why should the state give perks to those who marry that others cannot obtain?

What did I do to earn a marriage license that is nothing more than a state tax?

And why do we bother with the opinions of state representatives and black robes on who should marry and who should not in the first place?

The whole thing is absurd.

Probably at a pinnacle. Soon Trump will die of old age. But before that happens, the conservative policies enacted by the power of the SC will backfire on them in the next election. Most Americans want abortions available in a reasonable timeframe and most Americans despise bigots.
