'Jesus is the reason for the season '
'Put Christ again in Christmas '

Isnt it just normal common sense Christmas is the birth of Jesus and a Christian holiday? Why some have even to say it is?

Anyone thinks this is associated with MAGA and far right americans? And explain why and how because in serbia where i was born every child knows Jesus was born on Christmas and its a Christian holiday our non Christian neighbours visit us as friends and guests but know too its Christian

Thanks for your opinions
Cheers,

It is a pagan festival to mark the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere, adopted by the church to make Christianity more acceptable as a state religion I imagine.

Especially as no birth date of Jesus is given in scripture that I'm aware of.

Seems like all the Bronze Age desert superstitions have festivals around this time.

So yeah, those slogans are redolent of White Christian Nationalism, which is about as right wing as one can get.

I like how much effort you put into your disbelief. I guess I must be too lazy to put that kind of effort into things I don't believe.

Oh, look, DuckDuckGo agrees with me to some extent.

The date of Jesus' birth was not established until the 3rd and 4th centuries, with December 25 being recognized as his birthday around 336 AD. This date was likely chosen to coincide with existing pagan festivals during the winter solstice.

Maybe in your country in Serbia its neither white nor nationalist and very few people would disrespect the religion even if they are another religion or atheist

Oh? What gives you the idea I don't believe solstice festivals have been around since long before Christianity's version of a Bronze Age desert superstition?

No disbelief there.

Nor does it take much effort to type a few sentences.

Yet the slogans you wibble about aren't Serbian, you snivelling hypocritical wreck.

I was speaking in the broader sense of this subject. The atheists that post here are gas lighters. At least they think they are. Of course none of them will own that because they know it's wrong.

"when they heard God coming they hid." Some things never change.

People have every right to believe this even though it is not entirely accurate

Christmas transcends politics. Even if religion is sometimes used as a political tool.

Everyone marks seasonal changes, true. Even Bronze Age desert superstitions.

Some people are just born to hate and to reject that which is good.

I don't hate the coming Summer solstice. It's usually pretty good.

I think I'll go for a bike ride along the harbour drive on 25.12.25 as long as it's not too sunny.

Which Bronze Age desert superstition do you think is good?

What is wrong with the other ones?

Bronze age desert superstitions? And you expect me to take you seriously?

It's human nature to fear what is not understood. Often times ignorance is insolent. Which is especially true for ignorance that thinks it knows.

I'm especially fond of the religion of militant atheism. They are easy to spot online because they can condemn respect for people of faith without consequence other than developing bad habits that lead to predictable surprises that are harder to connect the dots to the root cause. They are a little harder to spot in real life because most of them are pussies and don't dare spout the nonsense they do from behind the safety of their keyboard and monitor.

Oh yes. They can laugh about the "sky god" and oh, ho ho ... isn't that so funny how dumb those people are and WE'RE the smart ones!
