" Is the Democratic brand toxic? A growing number of Dems wonder if going ‘independent’ will help them win

Losing to a twice-impeached convicted felon has left a small, but growing, number of Democrats wondering if their party brand is so toxic that they should shed the label — particularly in battleground and red states.

Mike Duggan, the longtime Democratic mayor of Detroit, is pursuing an independent campaign for governor in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in his state. Democratic strategists are studying this year’s bid by independent Dan Osborn, who as a Senate candidate in Nebraska overperformed the top of the ticket, as a model to win the upper chamber. And a Joe Biden mega-fundraiser is floating a gubernatorial run in Florida on what he calls the “Capitalist Party” ticket.

The deliberations, some of which are taking place in private, reflect the extent to which Trump’s win has made the party unsure of what to do next. Few Democrats are dismissing Trump as a fluke anymore after he carried the popular vote and expanded his support among key parts of their base.

Democrats who have jumped ship are making the bet that voters are so frustrated with the existing political parties that they will reward them for shaking things up. "

Oh my, the article's authors aren't taking Trump's huge victory well. But yes, the Democrat Party's left wing, woke fanaticism is toxic.
You can run from the name "democrat", but at the end of the day, do you still:

1. Call all your political opponents racist, xenophobic, Hitlers?

2. Embrace unregulated mass infanticide at taxpayer expense with abortion with no exceptions?

3. Want to continue to have sex changes for children and criminals behind bars?

4. Insist that whitey is still all systemically racist and bad?

5. Insist that all males have male toxicity and bad?

6. Ignore all societal problems as you spend hundreds of trillions of dollars to try and get the global temperature down 0.003 degree?

7. Ignore unregulated immigration?

In other words, how can they strip the insane fascistic lunatic fringe of their ideology? Changing their name does nothing, other than confuse people for a second or two.

Maybe that is their plan. They will change their name ever election or two because voters are stupid for the most part. After all, it took them how many decades to wise up to Obama and company, and at what price?

There are a couple of "problems" with the American Left these days, and they are not amenable to easy solutions.

First is the embrace of the Oppressor vs Oppressed world view. This attitude comes from Critical Theory and more recently, Critical Race Theory, and it is both irrational and harmful to its adherents. Put simply, every conflict in civic life can be reduced to a fight between the Oppressor and the Oppressed, and in most cases, the more powerful party is deemed the Oppressor, regardless of the underlying realities. Case in Point: Israel vs Hamas. Israel is by far the stronger side in the conflict and the Left has deemed it the Oppressor in this conflict, despite a mountain of evidence that Hamas is, to put it crudely, in the wrong. The fact is that the Oppressor vs Oppressed paradigm simply does not fit this conflict. The political Left is so wedded to the OvO paradigm that it cannot think rationally to reach the required logical conclusion.

The second "problem" on the Left is an absolute prohibition on being judgmental. No matter what crackpot idea pops up on the Left side of the political spectrum, the Left will not suppress it, shout it down, or reject it. Whether it is an irrational hatred of nuclear power, gender fluidity, our intentionally-left-open southern border, The Green New Deal, Critical Race Theory, Hamas as an innocent victim, or law fare against an individual, NO ONE on the Left will take a step back and say, "Hey guys, this is bullshit, and here's why..." And because of that, every Leftist politician is vulnerable to attacks on these crackpot ideas, because they dare not reject them. In the current cast of Leftist characters, Senator J. Fetterman (D-PA) seems to be the only Democrat who is willing to take that logical step back and look at SOME matters on an objective basis.

Nevertheless, rejecting the Democrat party in favor of logic is still a losing proposition, politically. The Democrats have every conceivable advantage in every single political race. They have the full support of the Media, government employees - a huge percentage of the population, the unions, Hollywood, and Academe. If you give all that up to be an Independent, you are giving up. It's just that simple.

The Democrat brand isn't "toxic." A department store mannequin with a D on the back of his suit would still win half of the elections in the country over any Republican who dares to run. All they need to do to prevail is simply Don't be Crazy.

The Dems are going to be tied at the hip with the cultural issues that animated Trumpism for a long time.

All they can do now is try to convince the middle class and working class that all their rhetoric hasn't just been lip service. And somehow convince them that attacking the middle and working classes by regularly screaming RACIST, HOMOPHOBE, ISLAMOPHOBE, TRANSPHOBE, CULTURAL APPROPRIATION and TOXIC MASCULINITY at them, and destroying their businesses and careers for saying something that "offended" the wrong person, mocking them for their concerns about a biological male in the same bathroom as their daughters and having drag queens reading to their kids without their permission was a mistake. You can't tell the middle class and working class that you care, then spit in their face, and wonder why they looked somewhere else.

The Dems have to capitulate and admit they lost their focus. Not sure I'd hold my breath on that.

People are stupid. They think if the Party is called "Democratic" then it must have Democratic principles. So, it doesn't matter what party they belong to or what 'independant' party they create. If it ain't Democratic then it can stuff itself down the drain with all of the other rats.

Being independent, smart choice?
not locked into either party's propaganda.
Looking at the WHOLE person who runs for Any government job.
will that person work for us? the 70% of the working or retired AMERICANS.
Or for either political party's advantages,?
& THERE DESIRES.
money power and personal advance?
