Is the Bill of Rights Kaput?

try to focus on one thing at a time, buddy.

We don't let people have Howitzers without very special permits. Why shouldn't the same apply to assault rifles?
Howitzers are not "arms" in the 2nd Amendment context.

There has never been a time in our history that it has been illegal for a civilian to own the standard-issue US service rifle (or in the case of the M-16, the civilian version that is not selective fire).

If the SHTF, we have a large cohort of civilians who are already familiar and proficient with the weapon. That's a good thing. Leave the service rifles alone.

Shit is hitting the fan now. It hits the fan every time some crazy idiot walks into a school or a theater or a shopping mall and guns down a bunch of people.

There's no good reason why a civilian should have a weapon like this.

You mean it was created for a war against a people of color, where we engaged in genocidal activities.

But it was still a crap weapon.
so now the invention and manufacture of the M1911 was racist?

is there any level you won't stoop to?

There are many good reasons why they should own them

We did not enagge in such activities

It is one of the finest weapons ever made

Throughout the war, numerous atrocities were committed by the U.S. military, including the targeting of civilians. American soldiers and other witnesses sent letters home that described some of these atrocities. For example, In November 1901, the Manila correspondent of the Philadelphia Ledger wrote:

The present war is no bloodless, opera bouffe engagement; our men have been relentless, have killed to exterminate men, women, children, prisoners and captives, active insurgents and suspected people from lads of ten up, the idea prevailing that the Filipino as such was little better than a dog...[174]
Reports from returning soldiers stated that upon entering a village, American soldiers would ransack every house and church and rob the inhabitants of everything of value, while Filipinos who approached the battle line waving a flag of truce were fired upon.[175]

Filipino civilians: 200,000–250,000 died, most because of famine and disease[ii]

No it was designed to save the lives of American fighting men. The issue .38s took multiple hits to stop Moro fanatics who were hopped up on drugs. The .45 was designed for one hit stops and it worked. It was reliable and hard-hitting. The only two reasons the US stopped using it was it wasn't NATO standardized and the Baretta had more than double the ammo capacity.

Well, we could have tried, "Not colonizing a country that was of no value to us and we had promised independence to."

The Spanish had the good sense to leave the Moros alone. We had to wave our dicks around.

And we gave the Philippines independence after spending millions of dollars and thousands of lives freeing them from Japan who was busily raping and murdering them into becoming productive slaves, uh I mean members of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. Oh, by the way, the Morros had been fighting the Spanish for over two centuries. Peddle your racist nonsense elsewhere. A thirty second search revealed your lies, you need to up your game if you are going to try to lie to me.

Funny story. Many Filipinos were fine with being liberated by the Japanese, and many people who participated in the Japanese -sponsored "Second Philippine Republic" eventually served in the Third Republic that was started after the war.

By 1898, the Spanish barely controlled Manila. We went in and imposed ourselves on them after lying to them about supporting independence.

If that’s the case, why did the Japanese have trouble controlling anything outside the major cities. There were more than a quarter million active, recognized guerrillas by 1944, plus thirty thousand Huks and another thirty thousand Moros. The Japanese had about a half million regular troops supported by thirty thousand constabulary, thirty thousand secret police and large numbers of Kampeitai Japanese secret police. The few Filipinos who supported the Japanese were typical Quislings; out for personal power or gain.

You do realize the Japanese were pretty spread out during WWII, right? Most of their army was fighting in China.

The Second Phillippine Republic was run by a guy named Jose Laurel. Contrary to being a "Quisling" he was returned to the Senate after the war.

Another key supporter of the 2PR was Emilio Aguinaldo, who was the leader of the First Philippine Republic, crushed by the US during our invasion.

In fact, one of the first things the new President of the Philippines had to do after independence was grant an amnesty to anyone who served in the occupation government.

The Democrats in Delaware probably don't even know the US has a Bill of Rights. Never studied the Constitution in school. They are so stupid they don't even understand what the simple phrase "shall not infringe" means. Consequences of being low IQ.

If you have to get government permission to enjoy a right specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights is it really a right at all? More like a suggestion, huh?

Is the Bill of Rights even worth the paper it is written on when the government can infringe upon rights that specifically say can't be infringed upon?

'Permit to purchase' handgun bill passed by lawmakers in Delaware; governor to sign into law

DOVER, Delaware (WPVI) -- Anyone looking to buy a handgun in Delaware could soon face a multi-step process.

On Thursday, the Delaware Senate passed a bill outlining permit-to-purchase regulations for residents who want to buy handguns. Gov. John Carney has said he will sign the bill into law as soon as it gets to his desk.

Jeff Hague, the president of the Delaware State Sportsmen's Association, said he is disappointed the legislation passed.

"This is not common sense, gun safety, firearm legislation. It's nothing more than gun control," he told Action News.

Hague said he takes issue with the entire bill, telling Action News it interferes with a person's constitutional rights.

"All it does is interfere with the right of a law-abiding citizen to exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear arms. It totally interferes with that process," he said. "You have to ask a government official who is not elected, is appointed, for permission to exercise your right to purchase a firearm."
It has Biden stupidity written all over it. It will accomplish the opposite, just as Heller did. It will clarify and strengthen the very thing they think they are opposing, when it gets struck down,.It is so stupid I can believe someone is playing the voters

The Second Amendment was about militias.

The Founders didn't want the great unwashed to have guns.
