Bible codes (or Torah codes) are purported hidden messages, predictions, and patterns found within the Hebrew text of the Bible, famously popularized by Michael Drosnin’s 1997 book, The Bible Code. They are typically discovered using "Equidistant Letter Sequences" (ELS), which involve selecting letters at regular intervals to reveal hidden words or phrases. While proponents claim these codes predict historical events, critics and scientists consider them statistically insignificant, arguing that similar patterns can be found in any lengthy text.
Key Aspects and Findings
- Methodology (ELS): The technique involves skipping a specific number of letters (e.g., every 5th or 10th letter) to form words.
- Claims: Proponents allege that the Torah contains encoded information about historical events, such as the Holocaust, the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, the 9/11 attacks, and the Apollo 11 moon landing.
- Origin: The concept was popularized by Michael Drosnin's book based on a 1994 paper by researchers like Eliyahu Rips.
- Skepticism and Criticism: Many mathematicians and researchers argue that the codes are not prophetic, but rather a result of the flexibility of the Hebrew language (where vowels are often omitted) and the sheer volume of text, allowing for random, coincidental alignments.
- Validity: Similar "codes" have been produced using the same methodology in other texts, such as Tolstoy's War and Peace.
Common Misconceptions
- The Bible codes are not generally accepted as a valid form of biblical interpretation by mainstream theologians.
- While some argue the code is a warning, no one has successfully used it to accurately predict future events in advance.
"Code" in Traditional Scripture
- Some instances of "coded" language, such as the Atbash cipher (a substitution cipher) in Jeremiah (e.g., "Sheshak" for Babylon), are widely acknowledged, but these are direct, intentional literary devices, distinct from the ELS, statistical-based Bible code theories.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousnessI say it is the word of men, and not of God. The bible has been edited by men over the centuries, and numerous versions of it exist. Who wrote it?
I think Paul was merely making a distinction between actual Jewish converts and Judaizers and others like Jannes and Jambres (3:8) who were beguiling gullible people, especially women. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Like having the town elders kill your child for words? All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
And is a very useful tool for manipulating the perceptions of humans. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
I'll believe the words of the apostle who was murdered on an upside down cross for his faith over words taken out of context of Mark TwainAnd is a very useful tool for manipulating the perceptions of humans.

That's not quite true, Pete. It has not been rewritten and rewritten. There are no numerous versions. It is the same version, translated into different languages. That a word may have been translated happens, but the theme of the Bible remains the same.I say it is the word of men, and not of God. Brilliant! That's not quite true, Pete. It has not been rewritten and rewritten. There are no numerous versions. It is the same version, translated into different languages. That a word may have been translated happens, but the theme of the Bible remains the same.
God inspired 40 men to write down what they knew, and their books came together like a hand in glove. If I asked 40 people here to write down what they know about what led up to the moon landing, you would get 40 different versions, including denials that is ever happened. And yet, in 620 BC there is Daniel telling that Israel would become a nation again on May 14, 1948. Can you name any other "rewriters" of the Bible that had such insight? I can not.
Some of the prediction were made 2,500 years before they happened. So, you should be able to tell us who the next president of the USA will be, right? And keep in mind, if you are bold enough to answer the question and are wrong, I have permission to kill you.
The Bible is 1/4+ prophesy. Here are just a few:
Who knew that a King named Cyrus would allow the Jewish slaves to return home? That Christ would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver? That Christ would be crucified before the practice was invented? That the Messiah would be beaten and flogged. That His feet and hands would be pierced. That the Temple would be destroyed.
How did John know that thousands of years down the road, the gospel would be preached worldwide? That there will be weapons that can vaporize the eyes and tongues and flesh before the person hits the ground? That the world would have the capacity to watch, in real time, two prophets come back to life after being killed and left in the street. How did John know about satellites?
Do you understand that the NWO and the WEF are vigorously trying to fulfill the 2000-year-old prophecy that no man may buy or sell without the mark? Digital ID's will determine what we are allowed to buy and what we are not.
So tell me who will win the Kentucky Derby in a few months...
God inspired 40 men to write down what they knew ....
And when they realize they have found themselves far from the destiny that they were hoping for, they need to call on Christ. His perfect work is available to everyone who wishes for a bright eternal destiny and have fallen short.it's for each individual to determine for themselves their destiny
It requires belief in the Holy Spirit, which those outside the Catholic church don't much recognize outside of listing it.I say it is the word of men, and not of God. The bible has been edited by men over the centuries, and numerous versions of it exist. Who wrote it?
Virtually everything anyone ever writes manipulates the perceptions of humans. And is a very useful tool for manipulating the perceptions of humans.

it's for each individual to determine for themselves their destiny -

He had to be tortured and die to offer his record to us as a gift. So He did...
lol. Breezie, you have a religion all of your own...the path to the everlasting may be made known but can not be given ... purity is the goal.
jesus is among many who have given their life for self determination than servitude and denial - the opposite that is written in the monarchical desert religions that have always fallen short and always will being predominantly works of fiction.
as a&e chose the heavenly goal granted them and which jesus made certain through liberation theology, self determination the difficult path many may well fall short the full requirement for admission to the everlasting is very possible. a choice to free ones spirit or perish as they please.
