Is space tourism really needed.? Think about how many hungry people one flight could feed.? Your thoughts.?

Is space tourism really needed.?

If there's a market for it. How other people spend their money is neither your business nor mine.

There are going to be hungry people no matter how many of them you feed. There always has been as it is part of the human condition. The idea that there's going to be less hungry people if a billionaire decides not to fly into space is simplistic thinking as neither has anything to do with the other.

No its not needed at all. However, plenty of pursuits and interests are not needed. I try and follow G-ds guidance and personal conscience and give when I can.

Gambling, drinking, addictions to poisons, chasing skirts, $1000 cell phones, $1000 gaming systems, $1000 sweaters, $250k cars, $3 coffees.

On and on.

If people have the means they can spend as they please, it's freedom and capitalism. Who should dictate how one can spend their money, the government?

Liberty man. Pursuit of happiness. Personally, if I have a million dollars to burn on something I would hope I am giving a great amount of charity. Even a simple gesture of handing a homeless person $5 can be a big deal to that person in that situation.

To be fair, Bezos and his family donate millions to feed the hungry.

If the filthy rich want to have their own thrill rides, so be it.

Scientists speculate that just one rocket launch is the equivalent to carbon emissions equaling Michael Moore eating one bowl of Wendy's chili

Frightening.

Hell no OP!

It's an exercise in elitism by the mega-rich.

You could argue all the money the US pours into sports is just as frivolous. However, living is a part of living.

Once they splash the ISS many private space stations may launch. Hopefully one or two before it is splashed. The prices with private rockets will get lower and lower. The peasant may not go yet. However, people in pay scales a little closer will get the chance.
