Is shooting an armed man in the back justifiable homicide.

Two guys got into a beef about a parking space..one walks up with a gun then starts to walk away and his shot, he then tries to get way but his shot several more times in the back and killed. Shooter was an off duty cop so the PD ruled he acted in self-defense...

The man pulled a firearm unless he put it away he is a threat until out of range or sight. Justifiable.

If it's an armed fleeing felon who already committed a crime and is a danger to the public it's legal in most jurisdictions and makes sense to put him down. The unfortunate couple, Bonnie & Clyde were gunned down by a arsenal of gunfire before they had a chance to surrender. Maybe it isn't well known but Prison Guards are authorized to shoot an unarmed escaping inmate in the back. Maybe it's more humane for feds under certain administrations to use tanks and poison gas to incinerate 80 men women and children in a fire that was sure to ignite with the gas that had a carrier which was a flammable as lacquer thinner.
