The costs of just rolling the Space Shuttle to the launch pad was 500 million dollars. That does not include anything in the cargo area and taking care of the astronauts. The shuttle was like a limousine compared to the what the early astronauts went through. We have to get the costs down in everything in government with regards to hardware if we can.
