Is Kim Davis wrong? Or is the Supreme Ct wrong about requiring acceptance of same-sex "marriage"?

Do you think that a reason that gays should not be allowed to marry is because of their higher than average suicide rate- as you originally implied?

And if so, do you also believe that veterans should not be allowed to marry because of their higher than average suicide rate?

That is a faulty comparison. Besides, people like you believe veterans should be deprived of their Second Amendment rights because of their higher than average suicide rate.

Then you should be faulting Muddy...he's the one that brought up the whole failed issue of suicide. He actually tried to argue that a higher than average suicide rate is a societal harm. and should preclude people from civilly marrying. Of course, when it's pointed out that veterans and active duty military have a higher than average suicide rate...he runs from his "argument".

No, I don't think veterans should be preventing from joining a well regulated militia...of course, one of those regulations should be a "sound mind".

Its the Supreme Court, right or wrong the decision is made and is the law of ALL the land.

You break the laws, you take the consequences of breaking the law. She will eventually be fired if she refuses to do her job but in the mean time jail would be the best place for her.

The rest of her 'followers' can retire to the nearest church to pray for 'god' to free her and overturn the Supreme Court.

Which of course he can't do and the whole thing will end with kristians a notch closer to the reality that they aren't going to force their religion on anyone. Those days are over.

For a totally different reason of course.

Show me where it says in the Bible that mixed marriages were not allowed. Abraham married an Egyptian. Show me where Christianity says that interracial marriages are a sin?

Here's the ones the bigots used.

Let the earth put forth vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, upon the earth. Again God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds. ~ Genesis

so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness (TRESPASS or SIN) the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost." Ezra 9:1-2

10Then the LORD said: "I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the LORD, will do for you. 11Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 12Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you. 13Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles. 14Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. 15"Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices. 16And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same. (NIV)Exodus 34:10-16

14Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness? (NRSV) 2Corinthians 6:14

It doesn't matter if YOU believe it...they did. I don't believe your interpretation is right either.
Explain what this has to do with Christianity.

This is the warnings in the Old Testament for the Hebrews taken out of Egypt. Abraham was before Moses. But even then the fact that he took and Egyptian woman into his home was not taboo. So he took Hagar as his wife who gave birth to Ishmael who was the father of the Arabs.

I guess it can be a problem at times.

Again, it doesn't matter if you think those passages refer to interracial relationships...the bigots certain think they do. I think they were/are as wrong on it as you are on gays and the bible.
Doubtful.

Being Gay has always been a sin in the Bible......as well as murder, theft, sloth, blasphemy, envy, malice, adultery, and particularly fornication.

That is YOUR interpretation. A lot of people don't interpret the bible to condemn loving, consenting adult gay relationships...especially since the ONLY NT thing you've got is Romans:

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

In other words, they were straight and god made them do icky gay things because they were worshipping idols.
And where one places SEX above GOD, SEX becomes an IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it! There are people who would rather have sex than show any reverence for God ---- if they acknowledge Him at all.

She did break the law. I doubt their was an exception of being stupid or lacking character to believe in religion exemption.
The only crime seems to be pissing off a Gay judge who has a habit of abusing his ******* authority. He held her in contempt.

A contemptible judge with an obvious conflict of interest in the case no less.

I smell corruption charges somewhere in Civil Court.
Oh the judge is gay? That's news. How come we haven't heard that except from the Birther?

My guess is that he's hoping cause he thinks the Judge is cute.

Indeed. But being a cab driver and a government employee are two drastically different things.

The question is whether or not employees get to use their religion as an excuse to refuse legitimate and legal service.

I don't think they can- regardless of whether they are Christian or Muslim.

What about you?

Yeah- as an Atheist- that would be include me.

Oddly enough though I am not a homosexual even though I don't worship idols or God.

I don't see any American Muslims in fore front of opposition to gay marriage.

And, does that mean they don't oppose gay marriage?.

It means that they are not the vocal face of opposition to gay marriage in America.

Of the American Muslims I know, about 1/3 do not oppose gay marriage.

Here in America the opposition comes from Evangelicals...

Yup.......hairy ball sucking queers are responsible for 99% of the terrorism in this country, be they Shiite radicals or homosexuals in the ACLU....working out of the White House.

My guess is that you had a shaving incident on the sack, or you don't measure up. Which is it?
Dude....forget about my sack.

Only a prissy Twink goes around talking like this to total strangers.
Don't you have a Glory Hole to tend to?

More gay references. You may be much happier when you come out of the closet.
Well, since I have Gay friends who aren't ******* assholes like you, I know that you're basically full of shit.

Here comes the 'gay friend' bullshit! Have you told your gay friends that you believe they don't have the same rights as you?

Davis is wrong by not following law she swore to follow. Some Christian.
If she was a Muslim nobody would **** with her.....at least no ACLU assholes as in this case.

You folks sure are terrified of American Muslims.

Since teabaggers are responsible for 99% of terrorism in this country, they have to promote a scapegoat.

I was responding to a really stupid comment- no need for you to come back with an even more stupid comment.

She broke the law. She's an idiot and religious, which go hand-in-hand.
And she's a Democrat...one I suspect won't be voting Democrat in 2016....because you fuckers gave her a hosing she's never going to forget.

I'm gonna have to put your fat ass on ignore....because nothing you say has any value, is relevant, or socially redeeming.

Bye *****.

Runaway! Runaway!

She cannot be fired. She is an elected official of a county in Kentucky and not the Supreme Court. She would have to lose an election or not run again.

Oh even worse, she is elected. I'm guessing the dullards that elected her will gladly vote for her again. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity, but they will do it.

But she does it anyway. I'm pretty sure her office has married formerly divorced people. That's a HUGE sin that the top guy, the head honcho, the big cheese, Jahesus himself said was a S-I-N.

The only rules against homosexuality in the Old Testament are in Leviticus.

Genesis 19:1–13
Romans 1:26–27
1 Corinthians 6:9

Genesis is OT, dude.
Romans, already addressed
And Cornthians?...it's all in the interpretation. Yours is as bad as the bigots that used your same bible to support slavery, segregation and antimiscegenation.

No Fems no Fairies?
Atheists didn't end slavery. Bible believing Christians did. My interpretation of who Harriet Beecher Stowe was. Gay couples cannot have children through their acts of sex. Their sexual actions are already at a disadvantage and unequal where Intelligent Design vs. Unintelligent behavior patterns.

You have proof this judge is gay?

How did this judge, gay or not, "abuse his authority"? Here's the timeline as an "FYI".

Marriage equality passed by the SCOTUS in a landmark, history making decision (like the one that allowed you to marry your African American wife).

Kim Davis refuses to issue marriage licenses to gays...then switched to all couples. And it wasn't just that she wouldn't do it, but she ordered her entire office not to do it, even those willing to do so.

The taxpaying citizens of that county sued...and won. She appealed...and lost...and appealed again...and lost. She then decided to disobey the judges order so she was held in contempt. The same thing would happen to anyone else that did the exact same thing.
