Actually, there is some unfortunate truth to Hechtor’s observation, although I wouldn’t categorize them as good or bad Jews. I would categorize them as observant or secular Jews. While there are always exceptions of course, the secular Jews identify more strongly with their liberalism over their Judaism, which is why they prioritize - for example - abortion on demand over, say, concerns about antisemitism and the support of Israel.

It was a big reason I switched to an Orthodox shul. I got tired of hearing liberal Jews at my precious synagogue mock “magas” and xey over the plight of Palestinians without ever mentioning the massacre that kicked off the war.
