And, the only reason so-called scholars even mention this 800 years is because they have no other record of it before that time. But, that's because it was most likely in the Ark of the Covenant which is now no where to be found. And If adam and eve were the only people created directly by god, Then there would be no other people in the world. And yet when kane is banished by god after killing abel, He pleaded with god, saying that he would be killed by the people of the outside world. If you take the accepted version of the adam and eve story, literally, then there would be no people of the outside world.

Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters, and yes, they married each other. There were no other people to marry. Recall that Isaac married his first cousin Rebekah. It was only later that close relatives were forbidden to marry.
