Is America still a Constitutional Republic?
Sure it is. Our elected officials have been and continue to do a shit job of running it, and the electorate hasn't held their feet to the fire for it, so there's some question about it's efficiency and the integrity of the electoral process. I think eligible voters should be able to vote, but that effort shouldn't override the requirement to ensure only legal votes should be counted. Seems to me that if people don't trust the election results to be honest then the whole system falls apart. Bottom line is, this form of gov't requires constant involvement of an informed citizenry that is as free of bias as possible. Looks like not enough people are involved and accurate information is hard to come by.
