Just 6 weeks ago, Trump was promising to raise tariffs on China by 60% and now because Musk does have a special relationship with China, is Trump backing off?

If there is anything that tangibly shows that this could be true are the charts of the Chinese Index (HSI). After the Trump win was announced on November 7th, the index began a fall of almost 12% in value. It was a 2079 point decrease. Nonetheless, this past week the index rallied 710 points, erasing 34% of that loss.

Are we seeing Trump "reverse" direction (to what he has stated in the past) and now because of Musk, he is perhaps favoring it (or at least not as strongly opposed as he was before).

What will Trump supporters think now about China? About Trump?
