Is a federation of nations or a world government possible?

Do I want to give up American Sovereignty so representatives from shit holes like Somalia and Haiti gain more control over my life?

Goodness, what a concept!

I'd say yes....It wouldn't be easy. I think the model is the United states or great Britain.

My idea of it is
1. The house would have one seat per nation. We'd be equals. Kind of like North Dakota is to California. 200+ nations.
2. The senate would be a few dozen senators that would be elected from the house or some hybrid system. This body would work a lot like the United states senate in have the power to place judges on the supreme court and confirm nominees of the admin. This body would also keep the presidency in check and enforce the constitution.
3. The presidency/executive. Maybe this would be elected by the largest party in the house and work towards global census. I think that would be the fairest way to do it at this level as no one would have too much power.

The presidency could be more like the prime minister as he'd also be the head of the house.

A constitution could be written and agreed to by all 200+ nations. I'd hope with the goals of peace, working together and a better future for humanity.

What do you think of my concepts.
If humans were perfect entities, devoid of corruption your idea would be difficult but possible. So no, not possible.

Under my system they will have the same amount of seats in the house as the united states or Haiti. ;)

They will be a part of the government but not anymore dominate than anyone else.
How does that work? Aren’t the liberals upset that California doesn’t get more votes in the House? Why would China agree to such a system, what is their benefit to your idea?

Ideas are one thing, lust for power and money is another. The people pushing this are not the nicest. They want several super states in a loose confederation answerable to the power in Europe at this point. The way you say, then we will get poorer overnight as we ship most our wealth to other nation in the voting you promoted. Perhaps that is socialism in another way.

Of course not.

However, in that fictional universe, every story is told from the point of view of people outside of the culture who still have suffering and conflict. Because, a society with no wants, no ambitions, just a long life of leisure would be mind-numbingly boring from a literary point of view.
Yet the Culture citizens create their own challenges to escape such boredom. As matters of choice, rather than inescapable reality.

The further government is from the people it represents, the more incompetent it becomes.

Which are intriguing choices, but hardly stimulating in a fiction novel. Choices with few to no consequences.

you actually think that globalists will install a gov't that is like the Intended US gov't?? i can't believe your naivete. That is what i think of your concept. And dude...you will be one of the first they exterminate. You need to man up.
I have nothing further to add

I don’t know any sane person who would look at the state of the world governments today and say, “Yeah! We want MORE of this dysfunction!”

If your goals were unending global warfare, famine, disease, and all manner of suffering then that would be one of the surest ways of achieving it. In other words, an unspeakably stupid fucking idea.

There was a time when people thought that the roman republic and the United states were impossible ideas. Things can change.
There was a time when some stupid jackass thought he could jump off a very high cliff, flap his arms really really hard, and fly like a Bird. He was killed of course. Some things do not change.
