Is a federation of nations or a world government possible?

Yes, but I believe it would be a vastly better future then going back to puriten times or most other tracks we could go as a species.

Even in a fictional "Star Trek" universe, where they can arbitrarily change anything they want to suit their narrative, including both the nature of sentient beings and physics itself, they still can't make Roddenberry's poorly-conceived idea to universal brotherhood work.

In the "Star Trek" universe, The Federation is constantly at war with other sentient species ... sometimes, members of it's own "Federation".

StarFleet, far from being the democratic meritocracy they believe themselves to be, are, in fact, an authoritarian, militaristic, band of fascists that routinely withhold technology, even life-saving technology, even from it's own Federation members.

Federation citizens who don't belong to StarFleet, far from living in a socialist non-scarcity utopia routinely have to work, trade, and even rob to get along. The "Star Trek" universe is full of colonists, traders, and even pirates living at subsistence level while the Star Fleet elite live in technological opulence with anything they could desire replicated to their every whim.

Even in a fake universe, where you can make up anything you want, and make people act anyway you please, universal peace and brotherhood just doesn't work.

Currently, a "world government" would only result from one nation, or Power, being dominate and conquering the whole world, compelling compliance.
Islamic Jihad has such a concept and goal in mind. Per Muhammad's mandate Islam is to conquer and convert the whole of humankind to Islam and then we will have global unity and peace under Allah.

Nationalism...the antidote to One world gov't.

In the event of a depopulating WWIII, you needn't worry about these murderers that we placed in positions of authority over us all. They will be jussssssst fine, in their big beautiful bunkers with plenty of food, water, air system, stores, transportation, food sources, recreation, parties at the end of the world as we know it. Anyone left atop..meaning us all, especially you democrat supporters, transgeders, homosexuals and drag queens, leftist propaganda pushing teachers...you'll all be right here at ground level with the rest of us.

Under my system they will have the same amount of seats in the house as the united states or Haiti. ;)

They will be a part of the government but not anymore dominate than anyone else.
China will b your masters for the next 200 years. Get used to it.

They'll run many of "us" off to die in the slave labor camps

The trannies and the sodomites and our lazy ghetto black population won't last long. So there is a bright side.

It is a hell of a lot better then what you wish for. That is literally the islamic state of some sort tied to putins dick.
You live in fantasy land.

You've destroyed this country. If they let you live, you'll have no freedom in 20 years.

Your Chinese masters won't permit your perversions

The liberal utopia lefties think is possible

If you read what I wrote a few posts up, I show that it's not even possible in the fictional universe of "Star Trek" where war, poverty, prejudice, and all forms of suffering are common.

Well, at least all the beings in the Star Trek universe are human looking and speak English in every corner of the galaxy

Someone once noted that in "Star Trek", their mission is to go "Where no man has gone before". Whenever they get there, someone is always waiting for them.

And they're usually white, and speak English. The only real difference is they usually have distinctive bumps on their head.

One of the best examples of a post-scarcity utopia is Ian Bank's "The Culture Series".

In that society, trillions of humans live, scattered across the galaxy, not on planets but on large orbital cities of millions of people. They have no unfulfilled wants or desires, they can spend their entire lives (which are virtually immortal) doing whatever they please while being waited on by a race of artificially intelligent robots.

However, in that fictional universe, every story is told from the point of view of people outside of the culture who still have suffering and conflict. Because, a society with no wants, no ambitions, just a long life of leisure would be mind-numbingly boring from a literary point of view.
