Okay, let's look at that. When Bill Clinton left office, we had 4% unemployment, surpluses, record high stock markets, and yes, GDP growth.

Then Bush got in, after he stole the election, and we had a recession, unemployment spiked, and we got a war and a recession.

You see, what really happens is people throw the Republicans the fuck out because they fuck things up... then enough time passes where Democrats fix things, and then people forget why they threw the Republicans out in the first place.

No, it couldn't have been that at all.

Now, was the economy slowing down? Um. Yeah. It always does.

But Bush did the exact opposite of what you do when you are faced with a recession. He cuts taxes for the rich (which didn't help any, because 2001 was an inventory recession, not a capital recession) and ran up higher defiicts with his war spending.

You know, the exact opposite of what you are supposed to do.
