The iran government blames US for the latest closure

Whether or not they can stop traffic remains to be seen

But the US blockade on iranian oil remains

Which means time is running out for the mullahs

The ultimate confrontation is unavoidable.
Yes Iran will do huge damage on their way out...but then they will have sealed their fate.

The Chinese were probably smiling as Iran initially closed it but allowed their oil cargo to flow as normal. CCP love being able to project to their citizens "look how strong and powerful your communist overlords are. See, aren't you glad you have us ruling you?". This is why Trump should not meet Xi but I digress...

Then the U. S set up the blockade, the worst possible outcome for China. Iran said, "hehe, just kidding, we will re-open it since Israel is not attacking Lebanon". Iranian leaders were feigning solidarity with Lebanon, a false narrativr. However, the U.S refused to remove their blockade, so, the REAL reason for Irans decision rises to the forefront. This was never about Lebanon, this was about hoping U.S would bwck down also, but, Americans in a language Iranians could understand replied "nyet".

When you say, "Iran reimposes…" what does that actually mean? Is there any actual spokesperson for the regime/government, or are there multiple factions each doing their own thing?

The official U.S. position/belief is that it is close to a "deal" with "Iran," Iran has ended its closure of the Straight, but the U.S. is continuing to blockade Iran's ports until they agree to all ten (?) of our objectives, which WE say is imminent.

If there is some jag-off on the coast who takes potshots at passing ships, what are we to make of that? Is Iran reneging on the preliminary deal, or not everyone is on board. That latter possibility is actually a likelihood.

One just wishes that the outlier could be killed or silenced or thwarted in some definitive way.

Right, they've been saying that shit for weeks now.

The point is, we don't have the endurance for months of $5.00 gasoline.

Or the Iranians have gotten sick of Trump's shit. They reopened the straight, but Trump is blocking ships from going to Iran?
