I would tend to say, that the two of you are overestimating Iran's factual military capabilities.

TACO is simply not willing to risk even a hundred dead - not because he would care about US soldiers, but because the narcissistic fool, actually believed that eliminating Iran's former government leaders - would make them come crawling for a "DEAL", and he doesn't want to risk his one in a lifetime lucky Venezuela image - that fortunately didn't result into any casualties.

Iran is also aware that sinking a US carrier will result in the US Congress, backing a full out war with Iran.
