The frustration in the Country is compounded by the lack of our Congress to pass meaningful laws. I propose we set up an "Internet Database", whereby any citizen, with SS#, can propose a law and submit it on-line (once only). Using keywords the database can determine whether 33% of the citizens have submitted a common request for a statuary law. This would then be debated (for and against) by members of the Congress in an open televised forum (over a 2 week period), at which point it will pass back to the country for a vote. If 66% vote on-line and agree to the legislation it will become law. If the vote is less than 33% it would be deemed a failure of the Congress to convince the people of their ability to put forward a coherent argument and will be resubmitted to Congress to do their job.

The state initiative process proves how bad an idea that is. People want and vote for things they know nothing about. There's a reason we are a republic and not a direct democracy.

Submission #1: Make all drugs legal.
Submission #2: Death penalty for selling drugs that are not legal.

Keywords: drugs, legal.

100% of the above have submitted a request for "drugs legal."

Oh, this will be great.

Obviously a Republic isn't working to well, so maybe a move to a full Democracy is the way, otherwise we are heading to a Socialist Republic. Keywords are Death penalty and drugs or drugs and legal, Would be nice to see which one would carry the majority. what people want and what the majority agree with may not be the same

The only people that wish to have legalized recreational narcotics are those with no experience with recreational narcotics.

While I don't care so much about pot, the harder drugs are killing Americans by the thousands. Heroin OD's are almost an epidemic. Employers can't find workers because they can't pass the drug test. Our ever expanding welfare state supports those too hooked on dope to work.

When you make something legal, expect more people to participate. Why anybody would want to expand the problem we have with drugs today is beyond me.

I agree but unfortunately our Government is allowing drug abuse to increase. Now if the majority of the Country felt like you and demanded legislature to penalise those pushing drugs then maybe it will break the stranglehold on the drug trade
