Indicted James Comey's lead defense attorney is one of his co-conspirators in the classified info leaks

Nothing in the indictment says he was leaking classified information, and if he was he’d be charged under the espionage act for doing so.

You’re just making shit up.

No, he was indicted for lying about leaking it.

Including to his lawyer.

Comey is not being charged with mishandling classified information.

You don’t even know the most basic aspects of the case.

The underlining matter is his sending classified information and then lying about it. He sent it to Fitzgerald, among others, making Fitzgerald a material witness.

The indictment alleges Comey lied during his 2020 testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee about authorizing the leak of a classified FBI investigation to the media.

The indictment say he lied about leaking to the press.

Fitzgerald is not a member of the press.

Again, you don’t seem to know the most basic facts of the case.

Poor Marener, he's either too dumb to understand this fundamental fact, or he's too dumb to realize we know he's lying about it. :auiqs.jpg:

Fitzgerald isn’t a member of the media and what makes you think it has anything to do with the case?

A conflict of interest and also a material witness to Comey's actions.

Federal Prosecutors Cite 2019 DOJ Watchdog Report That Found Comey Leaked to Fitzgerald

The Inspector General concluded Fitzgerald received multiple Comey memos about his meetings with President Trump, including at least one memo containing classified information.

Nope, not specifically to the press. The indictment is for lying to congress about leaking classified information. To who is immaterial.

Poor Marvin. You don’t realize that Comey sent the memos to Fitzgerald after his initial testimony.

A conflict of interest and also a material witness to Comey's actions.
Notice how the court filing doesn’t say he’s a “material witness”.

You just make shit up.

It absolutely is material. Yes, the court case is about leaking specifically to the press. Read the indictment.

If you can’t even get the most basic facts right, this case is over.

Fitzgerald isn’t a member of the media and what makes you think it has anything to do with the case?

Fitzgerald received the leaked information from Comey.

Fitzgerald could thus be called to testify to how blithely Comey treated classified information. But if he's Comey's attorney, Comey can claim attorney-client privilege, preventing Fitzgerald testifying against him [Comey].

Doesn't have to at this point.

It clearly is a conflict as stated. And what is that conflict based on? On Fitzgerald possibly being a material witness against Comey.

He received information AFTER his testimony.

There’s no way the indictment could be about sending anything to Fitzgerald.

And again, Fitzgerald still isn’t a member of the press, so again, the indictment can’t be referring to anything having to do with him.

Poor Marvin. You don’t realize that Comey sent the memos to Fitzgerald after his initial testimony.

That's irrelevant.

Comey probably leaked classified information to dozens of people. Possibly hundreds. None of them can be his lawyer.

There’s nothing clear about anything.

We still don’t know much about anything relating to the charges.

The prosecutors don’t say anything about Fitzgerald being a material witness.

“Probably” is just making shit up again. Notice how there’s nothing in the indictment about leaking classified information.

There’s no conflict. Fitzgerald has nothing to do with the case.

No one said that.

No one said that, either.

But there is a clear conflict, and that is based on Fitzgerald being a potential material witness against Comey sending classified information to people who had no security clearances. It shows Comey's mindset as 'above the law'.

I don’t think you understand what it means to be a “material witness”.

If Fitzgerald has nothing to do with the actual allegations, then he’s not a material witness.
