The BATFE has record of around 7,500,000 NFA registered firearms in private hands, of which almost 750,000 are machine guns.
Note the more than 3 million "Destructive devices" - grenades, grenade launchers, mines, artillery, automatic weapons >12.7mm, etc..
In common use? Under Caetano, that standard is met at 20,000 privately owned.
Under the standards set by the USSC, ownership and use of these firearms is unquestionably protected by the 2nd Amendment.
The restrictions of the NFA violate the constitution.
